There is a lot of talk about GTA’s next version being released and everyone has the same question – is this for real?
GTA 6 is rumoured to be released sometime in 2017 and even a date so far flung has raked up enough curiosity and apprehension. The speculation has started off during the previous month when Rockstar Games, a developer based in Ney York made an announcement that GTA (released in 2013) will soon be making its presence felt on Xbox one, PS4 and PC by this year end. Rockstar did not deny the rumour of GTA 6 coming out but neither did it confirm that GTA 6 is being worked on.
There are certain reports that say the game will possibly come back to Liberty City – a fictional city very similar to New York. Certain others state that GTA 5 will most likely be set in more than one city while yet another rumour talks about GTA 6 being set in a fictional version of Miami called Vice City. The original GTA: Vice City was first launched in 2002 and is now presently available on 9 different platforms which include Xbox, PC and PlayStation 2.
Another rumour states that the title could possible release during the month of June in 2017 and much like everything else, Rockstar will remain unresponsive to every rumour. Recently, an employee spoke about the release date on Reddit and also revealed that the company was working very hard on yet another game.
North Leslie Benzies, the President of Rockstar Games spoke about new ventures last October saying that They have ideas that are worth about 45 years! He added that they do not know yet about what GTA 6 would be like but they do have some idea. Soon after GTA 5 was launched on 17th September, 2013, the company turned its focus on improvising GTA 5 online. He mentioned that the company’s main focus has been GTA 5 online and that there is no period of relaxation between the winding up of ‘V’ and then moving on to online. He also mentioned that they have quite a few other things in the pipe line. There are many things and he mentioned, they will pick the right ones.
He also spoke about the importance that his company gives to all the small details in the games that it churns out. He said how the finishing final 5% to 10% of the work on the game makes a significant difference. This kind of perfection is generally not seen and nor is it understood by most section of the gaming industry. He believes that just anyone can make car drive around on streets in their games but getting that done in style is what developers are not able to achieve.
The company’s developers also look back at their own work; all the previous GTA titles. GTA 3 was unexpected. Many even their studio didn’t believe it could make an impact but the developers were proved wrong and pleasantly surprised when people took well to it. GTA 6 could bring in some more surprises along with some great improvements.
