Galaxy Note 4 vs. HTC One M8 – A Detailed Comparison on Specs and Features

In 2014 alone, there have been numerous smartphones, introduced into the market.

Two common names doing rounds on the internet are the newly released HTC One M8 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. HTC and Samsung are Asian-owned smartphone brands and both are known for their high standards. So, which is the better choice between the two phones?

Galaxy Note 4 vs. HTC One M8 on Design

The HTC line of smartphones is known for its high-end design. It comes with a curvaceous body, made of metallic material and is known to be great on the grip. On the other hand, Samsung is known for many things, but the design of their phones is not one of their strongest points. However, there are rumors that the Note 4 may come in a metallic body with curvy edges and 3-side Youm display. So, the verdict is not yet out on which phone has a better design, at least not until the Note 4 phablet is released.

The Processor

The HTC One M8 design is powered by a quad-core snapdragon, 2.3GHz processor that is supported by 2GB RAM. This is a highly effective processor, as it supports multitasking, is energy efficient and has quick response time.

On the other hand, the Note 4 is rumored to come with an octa-core QUALCOMM 64bit chipset processor. The use of an octa-core processor is a benchmark in the mobile industry, placing this gadget at the user’s beck and call. The 64 bit chipset supports high speed data transmission offering a profound experience to the user.

If the rumors are anything to go by, the Note 4 is a better choice in terms of the processor.

The Display

The Samsung Company is expected to release the Note 4 with a 5.7 AMOLED QHD inch display. This display will come with a 2650 x 1440 pixel resolution which gives it a 517ppi density. The QHD display is ideal for the phablet’s big screen to offer users a great viewing experience.

On the other hand, the HTC One M8 comes with a 5 inch LCD display, and a 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution. Even though this is a great screen pixel density, the note 4’s display is more superior, making it a clear cut winner.

The Operating System

The HTC One M8 was released a few months ago and is powered by 4.4.2 Android KitKat operating system, which is upgradable to a 4.4.3 version. There being a few months to the launch of the Note 4, it is possible that it will be powered by the latest Android OS Version – the Android Lollipop. This means that the Note 4 operating system will come with improved features and more possibilities than the KitKat version.

Internal Storage

The HTC One M8 comes in two internal storage variants, 16GB and the 32GB, and both have microSD slots to expand the memory. The Note 4 is expected to come in 3 variants; 10GB, 32GB and the 64GB and will also feature a microSD card slot.

The Cameras

The HTC One M8 comes with an ultrapixel dual-4 rear camera that has a dual LED flash and it also has a 5MP front facing camera. On the other hand, there are rumors that the Note 4 might come with a 20.7MP back camera. However, you will just have to wait and see.

Verdict

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will be a more superior smartphone to the HTC One M8, if the rumors are anything to go by.
