HTC One Max vs Galaxy Note 3 – One Max beats Note 3 in Battery Tests?

HTC’s smartphone, the One Max which has a full HD 1080p display that measures 5.9 inches (wow, this smartphone could be called a phablet). Oh, remember the fingerprint scanner on the Galaxy S5? Well, HTC has had its own version of that: the HTC One Max comes with a fingerprint scan feature too. This device has a quad core processor that works at 1.7 GHz and a Snapdragon 600 chipset from Qualcomm.

The HTC One Max is housing a very powerful battery unit with a capacity of 3300 mAh. Seeing this great capacity, the website GSMArena took it upon themselves to test the battery and to find out exactly what performance it gives.

The first test is probably what most users look for, is the talking time (3G) that the handset can handle. It seems that the One Max had actually great results in this test, lasting up to 22 hours and 13 minutes of talking time, which comes quite close with what the official report says: 25 hours. One Max’s most worthy opponent, the Galaxy Note 3, can only last up to 18 hours and 12 minutes of talking time (3G).

Talking about other devices that were tested, we can see that the One Max was only 4 hours and 40 minutes behind the Sony Xperia Z1 which lasted the longest of them all in the talking time test: 26 hours and 53 minutes. The Sony Xperia Z Ultra came in close second, with a time of 24 hours and 23 minutes.

The second test GSMArena had for the devices, is web browsing. The HTC One Max had a time of 11 hours and 20 minutes. The Acer Liquid E2, which was the winner, had a time of 12 hours and 39 minutes, which puts the HTC One Max very close to the winner. As for the Galaxy Note 3, the phablet only scored 9 hours and a few minutes, which is still 2 hours behind the HTC.

The first place in the video rendering test was taken by Motorola’s Razr Maxx which had lasted for 16 hours and 35 minutes. It’s true that in this test, the Galaxy Note 3 did better than the One Max, scoring a time of 13 hours and 32 minutes. The thing is that the difference was only of 21 minutes, seeing how the One Max had a time of 13 hours and 11 minutes.

The HTC One Max took the first place in the fourth and final test, the stand-by test. The handset had a time of 81 hours, which beat all the other devices included in the test.
