Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos 2 vs Nokia X2 Dual SIM – Best Specs and Prices Comparison

The heroes of today’s comparison are produced by two renowned brands, Nokia, and of course, Samsung. By the end of this comparison, we shall see which device does a better job in keeping the customer happy, and which has the best specs and features overall.

Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos 2

Design and Features

The Galaxy Grand Duos 2 comes in black and white color variants, and measures no less than 10.6 x 63.1 x 121.5, while weighing 118 grams. The handset is capable of supporting Android JellyBean with the help of its 1.2 GHz dual core processor and Broadcom Video-Core IV GPU. It falls a little behind at memory, with only 786 MB of RAM and 4 GB of internal storage space. You can, however, add up to 64 more GB through a micro SD card.

Display, Camera and Battery

Its screen has a maximum resolution of 480 x 800, and a pixel density of 233 ppi, all under a relatively small 4 inch display. With that being said, there isn’t really any outstanding element about the Grand Duos 2’s TFT capacitive touch screen. The back camera, with 5 MP, makes up a little for the poor quality of its front facing sister, which has only 0.3 MP. All these are powered by a Li-Ion 1500 mAh battery, designed to sustain up to 8 hours of talk time, and 280 hours of standby time.

Nokia X2 Dual SIM

Design and Features

The device measures at 11.1 x 68.3 x 121.7 mm and manages to be 150 grams heavier than his opponent for the day, the Grand Duos 2. On the bright side, the Nokia X2 Dual SIM offers a much larger variety of colors for the exterior appearance of your device, such as grey, black, white, green, red, or even orange. It also has support for Android JellyBean and 1.2 GHz dual core processor, just like the Galaxy smartphone. It wraps it up with 1 GB of RAM and an Adreno 302 GPU. The chipset behind all this is the Snapdragon 200. The internal memory options are the same for both devices, but the Nokia X2 can only get 32 more GB of additional storage.

Display, Camera and Battery

The Nokia X2 features a capacitive touch screen, with the maximum resolution  of 480 x 800 and a pixel density of 217 ppi, while using the IPS LCD technology. Its display is 4.7 inches and is covered with scratch resistant glass. There’s nothing that sets the cameras for the two handsets apart, so the specs are kind of the same in that area. A 1800 mAh battery provides up to 552 hours of standby time and 10 hours of talk time ( 13 hours on 3G).

Conclusion

You probably can’t see it at first, because they are very similar in terms of specifications, but out of the two devices, the Nokia X2 is the better phone, simply because it offers better battery and better protection for the screen. Also, the color palette out of which you can chose the exterior appearance for your unit is larger. Therefore, Nokia X2 is the victor!

Prices

You can get the Galaxy Grand Duos 2 for about $300 on Amazon.com, and on the same site you can get the Nokia X2 for under $200
