Improvement on the S5
The Galaxy S5 Prime is expected to be way better than the S5. There has been a lot of speculation about this upcoming device and it is made of a sturdier metal. Another aspect where the S5 Prime is expected to be an improvement is the wireless connectivity feature. It is said that the device will be able to support a download speed of up to a maximum of 225 Mbps. This is due to the use of the Qualcomm MDM 9635 chip. The new chip is able to send and receive data via 3 separate spectrum bands.
Design and Display
It seems that the Galaxy S5 Prime will be launched anytime now in Korea. It will be available in various color options of black, white as well as gold, sweet pink and in blue. The phone is said to be a higher end version of the S5. The metal case is a change from the traditional plastic shell of Samsung phones. According to rumors, this is the first time Samsung brings in a device with metal casing available in gold color. True aluminum will be used from the side up to the back. It will sport a red cover that is perforated, almost similar to the cover in the S5. The new casing offers a premium look to the S5 Prime.
Though Samsung usually offers various variants for the flagship phones, this version will be the first device in a fancy version of the flagship S5. The phone is expected to come with a display screen of 5.2 inches and will have a high HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 p.
Release Date
It is probable that the S5 Prime will be released as early as June 2014 at a price of around $880. The main reason for releasing an updated version so early is to offer an enhanced display. The S5 Prime is supposed to feature a display of 5.2 inches in Quad High Definition. It is also rumored that the device will be released simultaneously on all South Korean carriers, but may not come to other countries so soon. It seems that Samsung has set June 12th as the date for the Tab Into Color Galaxy Premiere to be held in New York. So it is probable that the S5 Prime will be revealed at the event.
Super Fast Processors
It has also been rumored that the S5 Prime will feature a display screen of QHD 2560 x 1440 p with a quad-core processor of 2.5 GHz and a RAM of 3GB with a battery capacity of 3000 mAh. It will support 4G LTE, with data speeds having up to 150 Mbps and comes with the Android 4.4 KitKat OS. This will be bundled with 32 GB of storage capacity combined with an Adreno 420 GPU. The super fast processor will ensure that users can easily perform several tasks simultaneously with great ease of use.
High End Camera Specs
The phone is also expected to have a front camera of 2 MP. The rear camera will have a resolution of 16 MP and will have OIS or optical image stabilization features. The camera has high-end features and users will be able to take several pictures and videos along with other events in their life, offering crystal clear pictures.
Other Features
The fingerprint scanner feature will be available in all the units of the S5 Prime. This feature ensures that only authorized people can open or use the phone. It can be used with just a touch and gestures. The new phone is expected to come at around $650.
