Samsung Galaxy S Duos vs Huawei Ascend G525 – Specifications and Price Comparison

On the outside, the Huawei Ascend G525 might look like a cheap phone, but its carcass is very elegant and the rear camera is pretty great, compared to other smartphones, although the images are slightly blurred. But for its price, the phone is modest, and so is the Galaxy S Duos, another budget phone with an Apple processor. But, here’s a short comparison between these phones that will help you decide which one is better.

Displays and sizes

The Huawei Ascend G525 supports a higher resolution – 540×960 pixels because its IPS LCD screen is of 4.5 inches. If you don’t mind having a smartphone with a lower resolution – 480×800 pixels, then you can buy the Samsung Galaxy S Duos, which has a 4-inch TFT display.

Because it’s bigger, the Huawei Ascend G525 is weighting more, 155grams, and its dimensions are: 134×66.8×9.9mm. The Samsung Galaxy S Duos is weighting 35 grams less, and its sizes are: 121.5×63.1×10.5mm.

Hardware and OS

With an internal storage of 4GB, expandable by up to 32GB, the Huawei Ascend G525 runs pretty well with the quad core processor, clocked at 1.2GHz, while the chipset is a Qualcomm MSM8225Q Snapdragon.

The Samsung Galaxy S Duos was designed function with a cortex A5 processor, clocked at 1GHz, and a Qualcomm chipset, but the family is MSM7227A Snapdragon. As for the internal storage, it’s identical to Huawei Ascend G525’s internal storage, which is also expandable to 32GB.

Both phones are running on the Android platform, but the Huawei Ascend G525 is running on the Jelly Bean version with 1GB of RAM. The Galaxy S Duos has only 768GB of RAM and it runs on the Ice Cream Sandwich version.


These phones are equipped with primary cameras of 5MP with autofocus, but the Galaxy S Duos has in addition the LED Flash as a feature. Also, both devices have a VGA secondary camera.


Almost 6 hours – is the maximum time talked on the phone with the Huawei Ascend G525, that has a battery with a capacity of 1700mAh. On the Galaxy S Duos you can talk over two hours more, on 3G, thanks to its Li-Ion 1500mAh battery.


The Ascend G525 costs on 140 dollars. The Galaxy S Duos S7562 is 5 dollars more expensive.
