HTC released the Desire 601 in October 2013 and many users had only words of praise about it. The Grand Neo is bigger and looks a lot like its predecessor, the Galaxy Grand from which it borrowed some features. But let’s compare these cool phones and maybe you’ll decide to spend your saving on one of them.
Displays, designs and sizes
The HTC Desire 601 features a plastic back panel which is available in three colors: red, white and black. It has a 4.5inches TFT display with 540x960pixels and 245ppi, which is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 2, and because of its medium size (134.5×66.7×9.9mm) and weight (130grams), the phone feels comfortable to hold in one hand.
The Grand Neo is quite bulky, measuring 143.7×77.1×9.6mm and it’s 33grams heavier, it has a plastic body and on the right side you’ll find the power button, on the left side you’ll find the volume rocker and on the top there’s the audio jack, while the USB charging slot is located at the bottom. The display is also TFT, with the size of 5.01inches, but the resolution is lower – 480x800pixels, giving a pixel density of 186ppi.

The HTC Desire 601 runs decently with a 1.4GHz dual core processor, which is backed by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset and an Adreno 305 GPU. It comes loaded with Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) OS, but you can simply upgrade it to v4.4.2 (KitKat). If the 8GB of internal storage isn’t enough for you, you can expand it up to 64GB. The Grand Neo, on the other hand, has a quad core 1.2Ghz Cortex A7 processor based on a BCM23550 chipset, which couples with 1GB of RAM.
