Samsung has released its newest flagship tablet, so we naturally want to see how the new Galaxy Tab S devices stack up against the current competition. The battle of tablets between Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 and Apple iPad Mini with retina display is very closer. As Samsung never runs for gains or profits, it did hit the snooze button once again.

Design
Galaxy Tab 3 has great phone functionality, with Android (4.4.2), Samsung TouchWiz UI, 8.38 x 4.94x 0.26 inches (212.8 x 125.6 x 6.6 mm) dimensions, weighing about 10.51 oz (298 gm).
On the other hand, iPad Mini has been designed with aluminium body, has its own OS: iOS (7.x version). It measures 7.87 x 5.30 x 0.30 inches (200 x 134.7 x 7.5 mm), weighing about 12.03 oz (341 g).
Display
The physical size of Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 is 8.4 inches, which is .04 inches larger than iPad Mini. The resolution of iPad Mini is bit higher than that of Galaxy Tab: 2048 x 1536 pixels (iPad Mini) and 1600 x 2560 pixels (Galaxy Tab 8.4). However, the pixel density of Galaxy Tab is 358 ppi and that of iPad Mini is 324 ppi. The Super AMOLED Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 and IPS LCD iPad Mini have similar colour display of 1677216.
Camera
The 8 megapixel camera of Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 comes with LED Lash, recording format (MPEG4, H.263, H.2.64, WMV), and front facing camera of 2.1 megapixels. The common feature of Galaxy Tab 3 and iPad Mini is the Camcorder of 1920×1080 (1080p HD) (30 fps). The iPad Mini has 5 megapixels camera with Aperture size F2.4, Digital Image Stabilization, 1.2 megapixels of Front-facing camera, and 1280×720 (720p HD) of Video Capture quality.
Hardware / Tech Specs
Galaxy Tab 8.4 has Exynos 5 Octa 5420 system chip with 8-core, 1900 MHz, ARM Cortex-A15 & ARM Cortex- A7, a graphic processor ARM Mali-T628 MP6, a System Memory 3072 MB RAM (Dual-channel, 933 MHz)/ LPDDR3 with built-in storage of 32 GB and a storage expansion of micro SD, micro SDHC, micro SDXC.
iPad Mini has its home OS Apple A7 with 64- bit architecture, Dual core, 1300 MHz, a graphic processor PowerVR G6430, a system memory 1024 MB RAM / DDR3; there is no expandable memory as the built-in storage is 128 GB.
Battery Life
Samsung’s products hit 8/10 when it comes to their battery backup and not user replaceable. The battery type of iPad Mini is a bit disappointing as its power backup is not high, though it is Li- Polymer type and not user replaceable.
Hot Price
The price of Galaxy Tab 8.4 is not available yet, but yes that of iPad Mini is already announced as $829 selling price.
Considering these specifications, it would be easier for a potential buyer to decide which option would be better out of the two.
