Huawei Ascend P1 vs Samsung Galaxy Express 2 – Best Prices and Top Specifications

Here are two other mid range smartphones with dual core CPUs. The Express 2 and the Huawei Ascend P1 are very different from each other, and it depends on you whether you opt for the phone with the bigger battery, or the phone with a better camera.

Displays and sizes

The 4.5inches TFT screen of the Galaxy Express 2 is capable of supporting an average resolution of 540x960pixels and 245ppi, so we don’t guarantee you the perfect viewing experience, because the images aren’t very sharp. As for the exterior, the phone has a plastic body and it’s more squared than other Samsung models. The device is weighting a little over 134grams and its dimensions are 132.4×65.7×9.8mm.

The Ascend P1 has the same screen resolution, but the display is 4.3inches, it’s a Super AMOLED which supports 256ppi and offers a way better color reproduction. As for the exterior appearance, we can’t consider the Huawei phone extremely beautiful. It has a glossy look and the body is almost rectangular. It weights 110grams, its dimensions are 127.4×64.8×7.7mm and the display is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass.

Hardware and OS

The Galaxy Express 2 comes with a dual core 1.7GHz Krait processor which offers a great performance along with the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 chipset and Adreno 305 GPU. The device hosts 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, expandable up to 64GB and it runs on the Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean). Plus, it has a layer of TouchWiz on top of it.

Regarding the Ascend P1, this phone is fast enough, being powered by a dual core 1.5GHz Cortex A9 processor, based on a TI OMAP 4460 chipset and it uses a PowerVR SGX540 GPU. This phone has only 1GB of RAM and 4GB of ROM and it runs on a very old Android version – v4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), but someday it will receive the 4.2 (Jelly Bean) version.

Both phones have gyro, accelerometer, proximity and compass sensors.

Cameras

The Express 2 takes decent pictures with its 5MP rear camera with autofocus, LED flash, face and smile detection, touch focus, geo tagging and image stabilization. For video calls, you ca use the VGA camera on the front. The Ascend P1 has an 8MP rear camera with dual-LED flash, HDR and other features, and the secondary camera is 1.3MP.

Batteries

The Express 2 has a bigger battery with the capacity of 2100mAH, while the Ascend P1 has a non removable 1670mAh battery.

Prices

The Galaxy Express 2 is priced at 270 dollars, while the Ascend P1 costs 195 dollars.
