South Korea’s mobile giant ‘Samsung’, has been having smartphone users around the globe waiting at the edge of their seats for the mini version of the Samsung Galaxy S5.With the Galaxy S5 being a very popular high end smartphone many persons are still looking for a smaller, affordable version. However, the mini version release date still remains a mystery but it is expected to be here before the second quarter of this year since the Galaxy S4 mini was released last year around the same time.
Features and Spec of the Galaxy S5 Mini
The Samsung Galaxy S5 mini will have similar feature to its larger version. The phone is speculated to be flaunting a 4.5 inched super amoled screen made from corning gorilla glass. This is a very outstanding amount for the smaller version compared to the 5.1 inches on the Galaxy S5,it will be a little better than the 4.3 inches screen on the Galaxy S4. There have also been improvements on the qHD resolution found on the Galaxy S4 mini.

These are very similar to the Galaxy S4 mini, however, it is reported that the Galaxy S5 mini will come with a dust and waterproof design because of the rubber gasket in the back panel of the phone.
It will be powered by the world’s favorite operating system Android and it will either be the Android Kit Kat or Lollipop version featuring Touch wiz UI. Expect the Galaxy S5 mini to include Qualcomm’s Snap Dragon processors with a Snap Dragon 400 chip.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 mini will support Bluetooth, a micro SD slot, which enable users to further extend the phone’s memory. Just like its larger version it will have many software such as Ultra Power Saving Mode. It will also feature LTE, Wi-Fi 802, NFC, GPS, Glonass and a USB port to enable connectivity to other devices like televisions, computers. Kids Mode, KNOX and Private Mode will also be included . These software was first introduced on the Galaxy S5. The Galaxy S5 mini will be available in more color variant such as black, blue, yellow, white and gold similar to the iPhone 5s and 5c.

Just like its big brother the Galaxy S5 mini will allows its users to socialize seamlessly. It will support the most popular social networking apps likes Facebook, Whatsapp ,BlackBerry Messenger (BBM),Skype and Instagram to mention a few. Like with any other smartphone users will be able to continue accessing thousands of apps from the Google Play Store and other sources.

More than likely the mini version will have the finger print scanner in the home screen and the rear mounted heart rate monitor just like the bigger version. It seems like Samsung is more focused on health these days. With the heart rate monitor users of this phone will now be able to track their pulse. The information will be provided in S Health 3.0, Samsung’s fitness monitoring app which is already known for tracking steps and calories burnt. This is definitely another dimension to staying healthy while on the go.
Finger Print Sensor- Make a Payment by just the Swipe of a Finger
This is a feature that was first introduced on Apple’s iPhone, however the sensor on this device is quite different. This new hardware allows users to register up to three finger prints and registration simply takes eight swipes. This can be used to unlock the device or authorize PayPal to make online payments.
To conclude, this mini version will bear striking resemblance to the bigger version. The only differences would be the price, size and variation and availability in different software.
