Samsung GALAXY Note 10.1 (2014) vs Asus Fonepad 7 – Specs and Price Comparison

Today we thought we’d discuss two tablets of two of the top companies on the tech market: Asus – which has partnered with Google before on making the popular Nexus devices, and Samsung which always comes up with quality products that stay among the favorites for a long time. This article is a comparison between Asus’s Fonepad 7 and Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014). Let’s see which tablet is the best choice for you.

Design and Display

Asus equipped the Fonepad 7 with an IPS LCD touch screen (multitouch + light sensor) that measures 7 inches and that an render a resolution of 800 x 1280. The pixel density for this tablet is of 216 pixels-per-inch. The device weighs 340 grams and comes with the following dimensions: 120 x 196.8 x 10.5 mm. The operating system for the Fonepad 7 is Android 4.2.

Camera

The FonePad is equipped with a 5MP rear-facing camera with 1080p HD quality and features like geo tagging and autofocus. The front-facing camera has 1.2MP.

The Galaxy Note 10.1 is tooled with an 8MP main camera that has smile detection, ISO control, autofocus, back-illuminated sensor, exposure compensation, face detection, burst mode, panorama, white balance presents, self-timer and geo tagging. The camera shoots photos at 1080p HD quality. The secondary camera has 2MP.

Hardware

The Asus device is powered by a Clover Trail+ processor (dual core clocked at 1600 MHz) that comes with an Intel Atom Z2560 chipset and PowerVR SGX544MP2 GPU. The tablet supports 1024MB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage space (you can expand your memory by up to 32GB via microSD/ microSDHC).

Samsung’s device is powered by a Krait 400 processor (quad core clocked at 2300 MHz) that comes with a Snapdragon 800 MSM8974 from Qualcomm and Adreno 330 graphics. This tablet supports 3072MB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory (you can expand your memory by up to 64GB via microSD/ microSDHC/ microSDXC).
