The competition on the market is so fierce, that, sometimes, handsets from the same company start “battling” each other, and that’s the case of HTC’s Desire 601 and Butterfly S. These two devices are very good options when looking for a new smartphone, so we thought we would compare the two to help you figure out what HTC device would suit you best.
HTC Desire 601
This device was released on the market in September of last year. The operating system the Desire 601 runs on is Android Jelly Bean which you can upgrade to Android KitKat. Let’s see what other features the phone brings to the table.

HTC always has elegant, polished looking handsets – so we weren’t surprised when we saw the sleek look of the HTC Desire 601. The handset comes with shock resistant capabilities. The display seen on the smartphone measures 4.5 inches and gives a pixel density of 245 pixels-per-inch. The imaging is not bad, but we have to say that HTC could of done better in regards of resolution.
Specifications, Camera & Battery
The processor that powers the HTC Desire 601 is a dual core working at 1.4 GHz that is paired up with Adreno 305 GPU. The device supports 1GB of RAM and shows off a 2100 mAh battery unit which is estimated to last a decent amount of time.
The primary camera of the device is quite impressive, with 5MP and multiple features like: ISO control, macro mode, scenes, effects, burst mode, LED flash and 1080p video shooting. The secondary camera is a VGA model.

HTC Butterfly S
This handset, released before the Desire 601, comes with some very appealing features like ultra pixel camera, stereo speakers that give a loud, crisp sound and Sense 5.0 user interface.
Design & Display
The design on this device is also remarkable, the HTC Butterfly S having a glossy finish. The handset weighs 160 grams. The display measures 5 inches and classifies as a LCD3 model. The pixel density is superior to the one on the Desire 601: 441 pixels-per-inch.
Specifications, Camera & Battery
The processor that powers the handset is a quad core working at 1.9 GHz. This device comes with more RAM: 2 GB. The rear-facing camera is inferior to the one on the HTC Desire 601, seeing how it only has 4MP. Even though it has only 4MP, the features we see on this device are very similar to the other one. The front-facing camera is actually better on the Butterfly S, coming with 2.1 MP.
