The game has a vast and beautiful open world with innovative structures offering 3 independent protagonists. The player can switch between any of these at any time. He can also engage himself in various side activities and have fun.
Multiple Perspectives
GTA 5 is a complicated and utterly fascinating game but with a lot of nastiness running through its center. Several perspectives are used to put the player in the midst of cinematic looking heists and other missions in an amazing setting of an open world game. The characters are very strong. However, there are some moments of hypocrisy and some inconsistencies in the storyline and in the way the characters behave at times.
Michael and Franklin
Michael, with Franklin and Trevor, offers different perspectives to the game. Michael is a former criminal and is disgruntled with his present relaxed life. He has a broken marriage and a poor relation with his daughter Tracy, who wants to succeed in reality TV. He also has a lazy son, Jimmy, who is always playing online video games. Michael connects with his talented driver Franklin and enters a life of big crime.
Trevor
Trevor is Michael’s former business associate and a friend. He is now a meth businessman in Los Santos. He is a psychotic type of character, who is both intelligent and crazy and also monstrous and violent. Trevor gets reunited with Michael and the three of them start working together.
Missions and Heists
The missions are the critical point of the game, with heists being the high points. These are big jobs that are planned by Michael and his group. The jobs offer various options for approaching the situation. The player’s choice will ultimately determine the way the heist will turn out. For instance, one option will suggest that you pose as a janitor for planting bombs in a building and then trigger the bombs. The other option suggests parachuting into the building and then busting it with arms.
Multi Stage Scenes
There is a lot of preparatory work to be done as well for the multi stage sequences. The player has to get equipment and find a proper place for the getaway car. He also has to make arrangements before starting to pull off the job successfully, by selecting proper supportive members of the crew. For some jobs, you will need a hacker, a getaway driver, a gunman and so on. The skilled members will get a bigger cut, whereas cheap inexperienced members may expect less payment. However, they might cause a failure of the mission or the task and even compromise the entire operation. These are the thrilling aspects of the game with intense and action packed scenes.
Switching between the Characters
During these missions, the player has to switch from one character to another. For instance, the rappelling down the building can be done using Michael’s character and then sniper cover can be provided through Franklin, whereas the getaway action in a helicopter can be done as Trevor. All of these characters are used for a single mission. Swapping between these different characters can be really exhilarating. Apart from this, the mission is also very exciting and the design is very often very surprising, as the player starts getting himself in the midst of several memorable situations.
Between Missions
When the player is between missions, he can switch from one protagonist to the other. The transition from one character to another is conducted through the satellite view, a sequence that enables zooming out of a character and location to zooming in to the other character and location.
