LG G2 vs Sony Xperia ZL – Top Processor and Performance Specifications Comparison

Life has been hard for LG recently. The company rolled in a plethora of smartphones in the mobile niche, which failed to make a mark for themselves.

Eventually, the company started following the footsteps of its Korean neighbor, Samsung, desperately trying to beat its counterpart in its own niche. After the successful launch of the Nexus 4, the second largest smartphone manufacturer, LG released the G2 handset. In comparison, the Japanese smartphone manufacturer has been giving LG a run for its money with their Xperia series. The latest release from Sony, the Xperia ZL handset, offers the user a 5-inch 1080p screen, 13MP camera, powerful quad core processor and LTE connectivity. All these features bring the handset into the high-end smartphone segment. The LG G2 comprises of a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chip along with quad core Krait 400 processor, running at a speed of 2.2GHz. The graphic chip comprises of Adreno 330, enabling the task of running almost every app or 3D game available in the market. The G2 is a great performer without noticeable lags or delays.

In comparison, the quad core Snapdragon S4 Pro SoC (system-on-chip), clocked at 1.5GHz powers the Xperia ZL smartphone. The processor offers the user flawless performance, both in handling 3D games and simple tasks.


In terms of system memory, the G2 can handle multitasking activities with ease, due to its 2GB of RAM. The internal storage capacity of the handset comes in two variants of 16GB and 32GB respectively. However, there is no external memory card slot for memory enhancement.

In comparison, the Sony Xperia ZL comes equipped with similar 2GB of RAM as that of its counterpart. However, the handset offers superb performance, handling both intensive and 3D gaming efficiently.


The beefy battery unit of the G2 handset handles the enormous display quite well. The 3000 mAh battery unit of the G2 offers a full working day battery life with heavy usage and 2-3 days of battery life with moderate usage.

In comparison, the 2370 mAh sealed battery unit of the Sony Xperia ZL delivers decent results nonetheless. In addition, the built-in Stamina Mode increases battery life by disabling power-consuming features when not required.
