Viber is a mobile phone application that lets you send messages and call your friends for free.
You can install Viber for free on any handset. The application works on Android devices, Blackberry, Windows Phone devices and iOS handsets. Calls and messages via Viber are completely free, provided the recipient also has Viber installed. Viber is a cross platform application. Once you and your friends install the application, you can send messages and talk as much as you can. You need to be connected to Wi-FI or 3G network in order to use Viber. Please note that using the application on 3G network consumes bandwidth (approximately 250kb per minute).
Viber for Android
Android users can download the application for free from Play Store. All you need to do is to enter the Play Store application on your device, and use search to find Viber. Alternatively, swipe to “top free applications”, where you will find Viber sitting at second place. Click install, and the application will be installed on your device. Once you install it, all your contacts from your phonebook will be synced with the application.
Viber for iOS
To download Viber, and start making free calls and send free messages to other users, click on the App Store icon in your menu. Use the search button to find Viber. The application is named “Viber – free phones calls & text.” Click on “free”, and then click install. You are required to enter your Apple ID password to proceed. As soon as you enter the password, the download process starts. Wait until the app is fully downloaded. Open, and follow the rules.
Viber for Windows Phone
With Viber, you can connect to more than 360 millions of users around the world, free of charge. To install the application on your device, go to the application store, and search for Viber. Click the application, and wait for the download process to finish. Now simply run it, and connect to people from anywhere in the world.
Viber for BlackBerry
The free application can be found in the BlackBerry World. Run search to find the app. You will see a box stating, “download.” Note that FREE is marked above. To download the app, you will need to scan the QR code. Depending on the OS of your device, you can do one of the following. For devices running on Blackberry software 7.1 or older, press the menu key and click “scan a barcode.” For devices running on Blackberry 10 or higher, just swipe down from the top of the screen and click “scan a barcode”.
Viber for Desktop
You can download Viber for your desktop, and send messages and make free calls to other users. Viber desktop is synched with your mobile device. To use Viber for desktop, you must have it installed on your handset as well. It is best that you download the application from the official website (http://www.viber.com/). Click the “Get Viber” box. The download process will begin. When installation begins, you will be asked to read, understand and accept the Terms and Conditions (End User License Agreement). Once fully downloaded, the application launches and will ask you to enter your cell phone number. Enter the number to receive a four digit code. You need to enter the code, and agree to Terms and Conditions again. Click “Enter Viber” and enjoy the benefits of Viber Desktop. The application automatically syncs contacts from your mobile phone.
Viber for Tablets / iPad
Viber is an excellent call option for Tablets / Ipad and other devices that have no 3G network. The application allows you to add a handy calling feature to an already great device. Viber is useful tool, and helps you get in touch with people from your device. Follow the instructions on how to download Viber, depending on the OS your device runs on.
Get Started with Viber
Fiber is free application. Once you install on your device, simply run it. There is no registration process. The application uses your phone number as your identity and syncs contacts from your phonebook. You will receive an access code via SMS or call back to activate the app. Entering the access code is for your safety, so nobody can use your account/number to send messages and make calls via Viber.
