Nokia X is the first smartphone manufactured by the Finnish company to run on the Android platform. It was released in March and it came with a number of useful features. The price isn’t absurd and the aspect of the phone is very nice, as it comes in a variety of colors such as bright red, cyan, black, yellow and white. The Xperia E1 isn’t a high end smartphone, so it’s not expensive. It comes in white, blue and purple colors.
Displays and sizes
Both of these phones have 4inches displays with the same resolution of 480x800pixels and pixel density – 233ppi. The Nokia handset is using the Nokia X platform 1.0 UI, which is upgradable to 1.1.2.2 and it supports multitouch, but only up to two fingers. The dimensions of this device are 115.5x63x10.4mm and it weights approximately 129 grams. We forgot to mention that the Nokia X has an IPS LCD screen.
The Xperia E1 is thicker, as it measures 12mm in thickness, and it’s also taller – 118mm. The width is 62.4mm and the phone weights 120grams. Also, the screen is scratch resistant.
Hardware and OS
The Nokia X offers a weaker hardware performance, being powered by a 1GHz dual core Cortex A5 processor, which couples with a Qualcomm MSM8225 Snapdragon S4 Play chipset, an Adreno 203 GPU and which is supported by 512MB of RAM. It has 4GB of built in storage, but it’s expandable up to 32GB. The phone runs on the Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) OS.
The Xperia E1 is slightly more powerful, featuring a 1.2GHz dual core Cortex A7 processor, which teams up with a Qualcomm MSM8210 Snapdragon 200 chipset and a newer version of Adreno GPU – 302. It also hosts 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory – expandable up to 32GB and it comes loaded with Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) OS, but it’s planned to be upgraded to 4.4.2 (KitKat).
Cameras
These smartphones don’t excel in camera quality as both are equipped with a 3.15MP single shooter on the back, with not many features to enumerate. The Nokia X’s camera can record videos at 480p@30fps and it has a 1/5” sensor size and two other features such as panorama and face detection. The Xperia E1 has geo-tagging, HDR, face and smile detection, panorama and image stabilization and it records videos at w480p@30fps.
Batteries
Both of the phones have Li-Ion removable batteries. The Nokia X’s battery has a capacity of 1500mAh and it should allow 10 hours and a half of talk time on 3G. The Sony handset features a 1700mAh battery which allows less than 9 hours of talk time on 3G.

The Nokia X is priced at 133 dollars on amazon.com and the Xperia E1 costs around 172 dollars.
