“The bigger, the better”, this is the new trend obsessing the phone manufacturers. LG and HTC got this “virus” and they can’t stop making phablets. So, today we’re going to compare the G3 with the One Max to see this one has more to offer.

Displays, designs and sizes

This is a battle between titans and this time, the size really matters. And not only that. The G3 is one of the most beautiful and elegant phones, having a premium look because of its metallic body, while other rivals have plastic back panels that feel cheap and glossy. This phone has a 5.5inches True HD-IPS + LCD display with a much higher resolution of 1440x2560pixels and 534ppi. This phone weights 149grams and its dimensions are 146.3×74.6×8.9mm.

The HTC One Max, which is the bigger brother of the HTC One, comes with a plastic body and metal panels, but it looks nice. You’ll find a fingerprint scanner below the camera and a switch to the side which you’ll push in order to remove the back panel. The display is 5.9inches, it’s a Super LCD3 with 1080x1920pixels and 373ppi. This device is a lot heavier, weighting 217grams, while its dimensions are 164.5×82.5×10.3mm.

Both of the phones have their screens protected against scratches with Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Hardware and OS

The G3 is incredibly powerful, being powered by a fast quad core Krait 400 processor which has a clock speed set at 2.5GHz. The chipset is Qualcomm MSM8975AC Snapdragon 801 and the GPU is Adreno 330. The G3 is a beast which runs with 3GB of RAM and has 32GB of internal storage, and the other variant consists of 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, but you can add a microSD card to expand the storage up 128GB, which is more than enough for you. This phone runs on Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) OS.

The One Max has a relatively inferior processor, a quad core Krait 300 clocked at 1.7GHz, based on a Qualcomm APQ8064 Snapdragon 600 chipset, and it uses an Adreno 320 GPU. Its chipset supports 2GB of RAM and two variants of internal memories – 16/32 GB, which are expandable up to 64GB. This phone runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) OS with HTC Sense 5.5.

Cameras

The G3 takes amazing pictures with the 13MP rear camera with a dual-Led flash, optical image stabilization, phase detection/laser autofocus, geo tagging etc. and records videos at 2160p@30fps and 1080p@30fps. The secondary camera is 2.1MP.

The One Max has a 4MP Ultrapixel camera on the back with autofocus, LED flash, simultaneous HD video and image recording, face and smile detection etc. and a 2.1MP camera on the front. The video record capability is at 1080p@30fps and 720p@60fps.

Batteries

Both batteries are huge compared to other phones’ batteries capacities. The G3 has a Li-Ion 3000mAh battery which will keep you occupied for 21hours if you’re in the mood for talking with your friends on 3G. The One Max has a non-removable Li-Po 3300mAh battery which lasts 25hours when talking on 3G.
