The HTC handset works on Android v4.4.2 KitKat Operating system along with HTC’s Sense 6.0UI, Whereas the new Xiaomi Mi4 runs on Android v4.4.3 KitKat Operating system with MIUI 6UI. The Xiaomi device provides 16 GB and 64 GB internal memory storage, while the HTC handset comes with 8 GB in built storage. Unfortunately, the Xiaomi Mi4 does have micro SD card support, but the HTC Desire 816 roll out with an expansion option up to 128 GB.
The battery and camera
When it comes to the battery, the Xiaomi Mi4 provides an excellent Li-Ion 3080 mAh battery unit and the HTC Desire 816 have a relatively minor battery unit, Li-Ion 2600 mAh. Thus, both the batteries cannot be replaced by the users.
The two phones have the same back facing camera of 13 MP. The difference between the handsets is that the Xiaomi Mi4 has a dual LED Flash and the HTC device has only a LED Flash.
The Xiaomi phone’s secondary camera is superior to the HTC device with an amazing 8 MP camera, while the Desire 816 have a 5 MP front facing cam, which is great too. The Xiaomi Mi4 is able to shoot 4K 3840×2160 videos, while the HTC device cannot.
Both the phones are packed with Wi-Fi hotspot, Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth v4.0, micro USB support and NFC. Plus, the Xiaomi Mi4 supports an Infrared port.
The Xiaomi Mi4 supports micro SIM card, whereas the HTC Desire 816 supports Nano SIM. Moreover, some models of the Desire 816 come with dual SIM port.
It’s notable that Xiaomi supports WCDMA, but the new version which is awaited to be released later in 2014 is supposed to have LTE support.
