HTC Desire 816 vs LG G3 Beat – Features and Best Specs Comparison

The HTC Desire 816 was launched this year in May. The LG G3 Beat (LG G3 S, LG G3 Mini) was recently announced in July and the smartphone is awaited to be to be launched in the third quarter of 2014. For those who are interested in the two devices, HTC Desire 816 or LG G3 Beat, here is a short comparison about their specs and features.

Display comparison

The HTC Desire 816 comes out of the box with a display of 5.5 inch (Super LCD), phablet alike, packed with a screen resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. Whereas, the LG G3 Beat will come out with a smaller display of 5 inch (IPS LCD) and a similar screen resolution as the HTC phone. Additionally, HTC Desire 816 display has a pixel density of 267 ppi and for the LG phone the pixel density stands at 294 ppi.

The HTC handset features a shiny polycarbonate outer layer made of plastic, which is different than the flagship HTC One M8 metallic design. According to Trusted Reviews, the matte effect surrounding the corners of the phone offers a heavy, pleasant design to the handset. Thus, there aren’t any details about the outer of the next LG G3 Beat phone by now.

The the LG G3 Beat handset will be 0.41 inch thick and 134 g. weight, while the HTC Desire handset is 0.31 inch and 165 g.

Memory comparison

Both the devices are packed with similar quad-core processor QUALCOMM Snapdragon 400 Cortex-A7, but the HTC’s processor stands at 1.6 GHz and backed by 1.5 GB of RAM, the LG phone’s processor is clocked at 1.2 GHz along with 1 GB of RAM.

Additionally, both the smartphones run on Android OS v4.4.2 KitKat. Although, the HTC Desire 816 uses along with the Android OS, the HTC’s Sense 6.0 UI. Moreover, both are bundled with 8 GB of in built memory and micro SD card expandable memory. Nonetheless, the HTC Desire 816 memory can be extent up to 128 GB and for the LG G3 Beat up to 64 GB.

Battery and camera

The LG phone is packed with a good battery unit (Li-Ion 2540 mAh ) and the HTC Desire 816 handset features a similar battery, Li-Po 2600 mAh.

When it comes to the camera, The HTC device features an amazing 13 MP primary camera unit, with LED flash, while the LG phone provides an 8 MP rear facing camera, also with LED flash. Plus, the HTC phone offers a pretty good secondary camera of 5 MP and the LG G3 Beat houses a 1.3 MP front facing cam.

Others

Besides the standard connectivity functions, the LG G3 Beat smartphone supports NFC, whereas the HTC handset does not. Also, The LG G3 Beat will be in white, black and gold versions, while the HTC Desire 816 comes in white black, green, red/orange and gray hues. Thus, not all the shades are available in all sides of the world. Whereas the LG phone supports micro SIM, the HTC Desire 816 houses nano SIM. Additionally, the HTC handset supports dualSIM and the LG G3 Beat does not.
