Watch Dogs 2 – 5 Things Gamers Expect in the Sequel

Developers at Ubisoft had already confirmed that with the massive sales and the franchise level that Watch Dogs attained, the game has all the potential to have a sequel next year.

Even though, they didn’t officially confirm it, we now know for sure that a new game is already in the making. According to their official reports, the title has outsold every other game in the Ubisoft franchise, including the exceptionally popular Assassin’s Creed III. Assuming that there is a sequel in production, here’s the wish list that gamers already prepared for the upcoming game.

Better Graphics

Without a doubt, this comes first, on the wish list, because Watch Dogs was a visual disappoint when it got launched. Maybe, the company was trying to introduce the title to multiple platforms at once for which they had to dumb down the visuals to a more palpable level or they choose to keep it that way. The demo showed during E3 2012 was definitely far more impressive than the actual game that we got. So, when they make the title for new generation consoles alone next year, it should definitely feature the best graphics and more importantly run on 1080p, 60 fps, we hope!

More Weapons

Compared to GTA 5, Watch Dogs lacks in terms of weapons. We do understand that the game is not about shooting and killing people as done in Grand Theft Auto but action lovers need access to some amazing weapons. If the developers could bring in some authentic weapons, modders will take care of the rest and improvise it on the PC platform. And, with more weapons, more destruction is possible, in an open world game a la GTA again.

Ability to Explore

As you would have seen by now, Watch Dogs doesn’t feature the ability to explore a lot of buildings in the huge virtual Chicago that they built. It is understandable that they didn’t have the time to construct a gym, shopping mall and more which can be fully explored, but after having spent five years in development, at least the new sequel should feature more freedom to enter into any building that you see.

A New Protagonist

Most players opined that the current Watch Dogs doesn’t feature a strong back story for the protagonist Aiden Pearce. His claim that someone killed his family is too cheesy and it wasn’t shown in the most convincing way in the cut scenes. Ubisoft has already talked about introducing a new star in the sequel and we may most probably get a new one who’s more interesting than the current Pearce.

Vast Side Missions

If I would want to go swimming, I should be able to. I may have the ability to break into a bank, hack into the network and steal something on my own – this is what players feel. The current Watch Dogs feels too scripted; so the sequel should allow players more freedom and increased side missions to occupy their time. And, definitely there should be more pedestrians around because Chicago is never as empty as portrayed in the game.
