Samsung Galaxy Note 4 vs LG G3 – Specifics and Price Comparison

The LG G3 made a few waves when it was released. But soon, the Note 4 will hit the markets (between September 5 and September 10), after it will be released in IFA 2014. here are a few details about the upcoming Samsung device will will surely draw your attention.

Displays and designs  

The G3 has a slightly smaller, but tall enough IPS LCD display of 5.5inches, while the Galaxy Note 4 will come with a 5.7inches screen. Both of the displays are 2K and support a resolution of 1,440×2,560pixels and if we already know that the G3 supports 534ppi, the Galaxy Note 4 is supposed to support 500+ppi. The Korea Times received an information from a source that Samsung is planning to launch two variants of the Note 4 – one with a curved OLED display, and the other one with a regular and flat OLED display. Lee Younghee, the executive vice president of Samsung, said that the model might come with a flexible screen.

In terms of designs, G3 has a rear panel made of plastic, but with a metal effect, so if you don’t look closer, this look might fool you. The Note 4 is similar to the Note 3, having the faux leather back cover.

It’s possible that the Note 4 will have a three-sided YOUM display, but this is just a rumor for now.

Hardware and OS          

The G3 is has a 2.5Ghz quad-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 801)Krait 400 processor and Adreno 330GPU + 2GB of RAM (the 16GB of ROM variant) or 3GB of RAM (for the 32GB of ROM). The Note 4, will come in two variants of processors: the model number SM-N910S will be powered by a quad-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 805)Krait 450 processor and will have Adreno 420 GPU, while the model number SM-N910C will come with an octa-core (Samsung Exynos 5433)processor and ARM Mali-T760 GPU + 3GB of RAM. This device will host 32GB of ROM and like the G3, it will support MicroSD card slot for expansion – up to 128GB.

The G3 is running on Android 4.4.2KitKat OS, while the Galaxy Note 4 will run on the Android 4.4.3KitKat or higher.

Cameras and Batteries

The G3 has a 13MP rear camera (dual-LED flash) and a 2.1MP front camera. The Note 4 will sport a 12MP primary camera + a 3.6MP secondary camera. The Samsung model and the LG model have the optical image stabilization feature, but only the Note 4’s camera will support 4K recording.

As for the G3, it is known that it has some amazing camera software – Laser Autofocus Sensor (taking only 0.276seconds to focus) + Selfie Mode and voice activation.

The battery on the G3 is replaceable and it has the capacity of 3000mAh, while the Note 4’s battery is better, having the capacity of 3600mAh.

Other specs

The G3 is not water resistant, but it can survive when it’s dropped into the water.

The Note 4 will be water and dust-resistant.

The G3 has 5 variants of shades: red, blue, gold, white and black. Blue and red aren’t available in all the countries. The Note 4 will be available in white, black, electric blue and copper gold shades.

The Galaxy Note 4 will have a fingerprint sensor.

Both of the devices support NFC.

The G3’s battery can be charged via wireless.

The Note 4 will have a feature called “Swipe to launch”, which is similar to the HTC One M8, with which you can unlock your phone by inputting gestures.

The Note 4 is rumored to take photos under water with the feature called “Aqua Capture”.

The G3 32GB 3GB or RAM variant can be found on amazon.com at the price of 704 dollars. The Galaxy Note 4 is expected to costs around 800 dollars.
