Nokia Lumia 925 vs. Nexus 4 – Comparing Features and Specifications

In case, you are not keen on purchasing an iPhone, you are left with two possible choices; the Android based smartphone or the Windows Phone 8 based handset.

The Nokia Lumia 925 released in the market would be giving some tough competition to its rivals. However, the Google Nexus 4 is also a great smartphone designed by Google and manufactured by LG. Let us compare the two for their features and specifications.

The Nokia Lumia 925 sports a thinner and lighter frame, made from aluminium. Most of the earlier smartphones in the Lumia series were made from polycarbonate plastic. The Lumia 925 has broken the trend this time. There are minor improvements such as the inclusion of FM radio and AMOLED panel.

Design

The Nokia Lumia 925 is more similar to the Lumia 720 than the Lumia 920 in terms of design. The rounded sides and the tapered back of this rectangular smartphone hide some of its thickness. The aluminium sides and a polycarbonate back caters it a rubberized finish.

The Nexus 4 is a great looking smartphone as of date. The device is both robust and attractive. The rubbery finish to the device adds security and grip.

Display and Dimensions

The Lumia 925 is a tad smaller and thinner than the Nexus 4. The Lumia 925 stands 129mm tall in comparison to the 133.9mm height of the Nexus 4. The Lumia 925 is a wide smartphone with 70.6mm width as compared to the width of Nexus 4 that is 68.7mm wide. However, the Lumia 925 is thinner measuring 8.5mm in comparison to the 9.1mm thickness of the Nexus 4.

The Lumia 925 supports 4.5 inches AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 768×1280 pixels. The resolution is the same for Nexus 4. However, the device holds a 4.7 inches True HD touchscreen. Both the devices use Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protective coating.

Processor and Operating System

The Lumia 925 comes equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon dual core 1.5 GHz processor and runs on Microsoft Windows Phone 8 operating system. The OS can be upgraded to Windows Phone 8 Black.

In comparison, the Nexus 4 makes use of Qualcomm Snapdragon Pro S4 CPU and runs on Android version 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system that can be upgradable to version 4.4.2 KitKat.

Price

The Nokia Lumia 925 is priced at $364.99, whereas the Nexus 4 is available at $374.99.

The specifications of the Nokia smartphone are enough for a smooth running of the Windows Phone 8 whereas the Nexus 4 is ably prepared for Android based version 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system. Both the smartphones are evenly matched in terms of build and screen. There is not much of a difference in the price also. Making a choice between the two can be a daunting task.
