Minecraft Xbox One, PS4 and Vita Sales – Potential Speculations

In concordance with Scotland Now, the development team at 4J Studios thought that the Minecraft title will end up being the best selling video game in the history. Mojang, the original creator of Minecraft, sold over 54 million copies since the game was released back in 2009.

There is still a long way to reach 134 million copies – the number of copies sold by the classic puzzle game, Tetris, which was released in 1984, for all the major gaming platforms and which was played even on Game Boy.

Mojang and 4J Studios are hoping that bringing Minecraft to the next generation consoles Xbox One and PlayStation 4, will help them increase the sales for this great title. Aside from the PC version of the game, the two next-generation consoles will bring Minecraft to a new level, in terms of graphics and gameplay. Compared to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, the next-generation consoles will feature a bigger draw distance and 36 times larger worlds.

Mojang confirmed that the players will be able to save worlds from the previous consoles, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and import them to the next-generation consoles Xbox One and PlayStation 4, plus they will get a discount. For example, if they already have the game on the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360, they have the option to upgrade it to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 for only 4.99 dollars. For those who play Minecraft: Xbox One or PlayStation 4 for the first time, they will purchase the game at the price of 19.99 dollars.

Minecraft for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita is scheduled to be released in August 2014.
