iPhone 5S vs iPhone 5C –Comparison of Specs and Features

This year has seen a different strategy by a leading smartphone company, Apple Inc.

This time, the company has released two of its latest smartphones simultaneously into the market. The Apple iPhone 5S would be doing business alongside the Apple iPhone 5C in the mobile market. Unsurprisingly, the iPhone 5S offers additional hardware advantages in comparison to the iPhone 5C. However, the latter comes at a lower price and packs a punch in terms of features and specifications.

Let us compare the features and specifications of the iPhone 5S to that of the iPhone 5C.

Design

The iPhones of the past had distinctive design characteristics. However, that is not the case now. Comparing the two smartphones from the rear, the iPhone 5S has a premium look with its aluminium body. The iPhone 5C is also a good-looking smartphone with its polycarbonate plastic body that comes with an array of colors. The difference comes in the volume button that is placed a tad up on the iPhone 5C. The iPhone 5S comes equipped with a biometric fingerprint scanner and has more cutout space on the speaker grill.

Display

The iPhone 5S is a flagship smartphone of the company and comes with amazing hardware under its hood. However, both these smartphones are equipped with a 4-inch Retina Display having a resolution of 640×1136 pixels. Both these smartphones offer similar outdoor visibility, brightness output, good quality color reproduction, and wide viewing angles. Both the devices are spot on with their display features.

Interface

Apple’s iPhones have one fundamental principle, consistency. Both the iPhone 5S and the 5C comprises of the latest iOS 7 operating system. The functionality between these two smartphones does not differ at all. Both the devices offer similar screen size and offer similar messaging experience.

CPU and Memory

The difference lies in the processor department. The iPhone 5S is a flagship model of the company and it is equipped with a 1.3GHz dual core Apple A7 CPU. It comes with 64-bit design that is the first of its kind seen on the iPhone. In comparison, the iPhone 5C comes with a 1.3GHz dual core Apple A6 CPU. There is hardly any difference between the performances of these two devices.

The iPhone 5S comes with an internal storage capacity ranging from 16GB, 32GB or 64GB. There are only 16GB and 32GB storage options available in the iPhone 5C smartphone.

These two smartphones differ in the pricing structure and consumers would turn to the one that best suits their requirements.
