For a long time, Call of Duty has been ruling the video game world.
This best selling video game franchise continues to be the best and that is certainly not going to change anytime. The annual release of the game makes it a chart topper every time, even though Grand Theft Auto continues to be the best selling title of all time. Activision has truly hit the jackpot with this one. Unfortunately, the franchise has failed to give fans a lot of new content, because of which, it is falling out of favor. This is certainly bad news for the franchise, because it means that other, more interesting and entertaining games may soon take over. Since in the world of video gaming, the next best thing is always around the corner, Call of Duty may anytime lose to growing competition.
The New Trailer
In a bid to overcome the increasing competition and ensuring a spot on the top, Sledgehammer has introduced a lot of new things in the upcoming title. How do we know that? From the trailer, of course! After the disappointment of Call of Duty: Ghosts, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is actually looking to rekindle its lost glory. The earlier installment of the game, which was considered a step down, will no longer tarnish the franchise with its failure. Instead, the new content and the additions should liven up things, a little bit. This is the first time that Sledgehammer will be working on this title. For the next three years, Call of Duty would be Sledgehammer’s baby and they want to make their entry big. So far, the trailer looks amazing and it seems that the franchise is taking a big step forward.
The most stunning change you will notice would be graphics. They are certainly a quantum leap from what used to be. Since Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is being developed especially for new gen consoles, the graphics simply had to be mind blowing. The graphical leap is expected, keeping in mind the change in hardware. Besides the graphics, another major change in the game is its much enhanced cinematic appeal. The addition of Kevin Spacey as one of the antagonists is perhaps the biggest appeal of the game. Due to the addition of this very versatile actor, the game transcends the boundaries of being just a video game and gets a cinematic touch. The trailer also shows the power equation to be expected in the game. The opening scene of the trailer shows a ruthless animation of Kevin Spacey, as he declares “We don’t need congress”. The power dynamics between the civil society and the government are explored deeply – or so the trailer suggests. If the game is anything like what we have seen in the trailer, it would certainly be a blockbuster.
Though there is not much information on how the multiplayer game would work, the trailer hints at new EXO suits, which provide much more fluidity in movements. It also hints at a very interesting backstory and new gameplay. All of this leads us to believe that the multiplayer modes are going to be more fluid and much better.
