BlackBerry Z10 vs Nokia Lumia 630 – Top Specs and Price Comparison

The Nokia Lumia 630 was released in May and the BlackBerry Z10 was released last year, in January. We’ve compared these handsets and we concluded that sometimes, older is better, since the BlackBerry handset has some superior features which make it superior to its opponent.

Displays, Designs and Sizes

The Lumia 630 is equipped with a 4.5inches IPS LCD screen, which supports a resolution of 480x854pixels. If you want a phone with a higher resolution, but which has a smaller screen, then the BlackBerry Z10 is perfect for you. It has a 4.2inches display with 768×1,280pixels.

The Lumia 630 is similar to other Nokia handsets, coming with a plastic back cover with vivid colors, which extend to the device’s buttons. Plus, it’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The BlackBerry Z10 has a textured plastic back panel which looks rubberized. The phone is comfortable to hold and it feels solid.

The BlackBerry Z10 is 0.35inches thick and it weights 138grams. The thickness of Lumia 630 is 0.36inches, and it weighs 134grams.

Hardware and OS

The BlackBerry Z10 comes with a 1.5GHz dual-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus) Krait processor. The Lumia 630 has a 1.2GHz quad-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 400) ARM Cortex-A7 processor. The BlackBerry Z10 has 16GB of internal storage – expandable up to 64GB. The Lumia 630 has only 8GB of internal storage, but it can be expanded up to 128GB.

The Lumia 630 is running on the Windows Phone 8.1 OS with only 512MB of RAM, while the BlackBerry Z10 is running on the BlackBerry 10 OS (which is upgradable to the 10.1 version) with 2GB of RAM.

Cameras and Batteries

The BlackBerry Z10 has a better rear camera – 8MP, with LED Flash, and the front camera is 2MP. The Nokia Lumia 630 sports only a 5MP camera.

As for the batteries, the Nokia Lumia 630 has a Li-Ion 1830mAh battery which allows you to talk 16 hours on the phone. IN stand by mode, it lasts 600 hours – 288 hours more than BlackBerry Z10’s Li-Ion 1800mAh battery. On this phone, you can talk 10 hours.

Connectivity and SIMs

Both of these devices support Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi hotspot and micro-sim type. Only the BlackBerry model supports NFC, while the Lumia 630 supports dual-sim mode.

The BlackBerry Z10 16GB, 4G LTE version can be found on amazon.com at the price of 235 dollars. The Nokia Lumia 630 is 35 dollars cheaper.
