Verizon Wireless unveiled the Motorola Droid X2 in the year 2011.

The smartphone was made available to the masses after one week of its launch. The Motorola Droid X2 is an upgraded version of its predecessor, Motorola Droid X smartphone. This latest smartphone launched by Verizon Wireless has the similar design as that of its predecessor. However, the updated version of the smartphone packs a plethora of features different from its predecessor. Design, Dimensions, Display

The Motorola Droid X2 has been designed on the same lines as that of its predecessor, the Motorola Droid X. There are hardly any visible changes made to the latest version of the Droid X series. The strong and robust body of the smartphone caters it with a tougher look. The dimensions of Motorola Droid X2 measures 127.5mm x 65.5mm x 9.9mm in height, width and thickness. The Droid X2 encompasses a 4.3 inch multi touchscreen having a resolution of 540×960 pixels. The Droid X is very similar to Droid X2 in terms of dimensions and weight. Both the devices weigh 155 grams. Both the smartphones comes equipped with an 8MP camera with Dual LED flash having a resolution of 1280×720 pixels.

However, there is a difference in the screen resolution between Droid X2 and Droid X. The latter has a display screen resolution of 480×854 pixels.

Hardware and Software

The Motorola Droid X is powered by a single core 1GHz TIOMAP3630-1000 processor. The device has an internal memory of 6.656 GB with 512MB RAM. The Droid X runs on Android v2.2 aka Froyo operating system. The device is expected to receive the Android v2.3 upgrade. The Motorola Droid X comes equipped with a 1540 mAh battery with standby and talk time of 8 hours and 220 hours respectively.

The Motorola Droid X2 is powered with NVIDIA Tegra 2 1GHz dual core processor. The device has an internal memory of 8GB with 512MB of RAM. The Droid X2, similar to its predecessor, has Motoblur skin of Motorola, baked into its operating system. There are no changes made to the battery in Droid X2.

Price

The Motorola Droid X is available at a price of $649.99 whereas the upgraded version, the Motorola Droid X2 is priced at $549.99

There are no differences when it comes to the design of both Droid X and Droid X2. However, the Motorola Droid X2 has better features than its predecessor.
