The Blackberry Z10 is an elegant phone and great specifications, but don’t expect to spend a lot of money on it! Although you won’t find too many apps on it, you’ll enjoy the fast Internet browsing and you’ll be pleased with the possibility of expanding its internal storage. Apple’s flagship, on the other hand, is a premium quality product and there’s nothing much to criticize about it. But its price is kind of spicy. We’ll compare both devices to see if they are worth buying.
Displays and designs
The Blackberry Z10 has a bigger display, with the size of 4.2 inches, and a higher resolution of 768×1280 pixels, while the Apple iPhone 5 has a 4 inch LED backlit IPS LCD touch screen that renders a resolution of 640×1136 pixels.
The Blackberry Z10 is a lot heavier, weighting a little over 137 grams, and it measures 130×65.6×9 mm. The iPhone 5 is weighting only 112 grams, and comes with these dimensions: 123.8×58.6×7.6 mm.
Hardware and operating systems
Under its hood, the Blackberry Z10 has a 1.5 GHz dual core processor and a Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon chipset. There is only one variant of 16 GB internal memory,which is expandable by up to 64 GB.
The iPhone 5, on the other hand, has a dual core processor clocked at 1.3 GHz and also an Apple A6 chipset. There are three variants of internal memories: 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB which can’t be expanded.
The Blackberry Z10 runs on the company’s operating system, the BlackBerry 10 (which is upgradeable to the 10.1 version) with 2 GB of RAM. The iPhone 5 is running on the iOS 6 OS which will be upgraded to the iOS 8, once the new version will be launched. This smartphone is equipped with only 1 GB of RAM.
Cameras
Both phones have an 8 MP primary camera, but the Blackberry Z10’s secondary camera is of 2MP, while the iPhone 5 has a secondary camera with a lower resolution – 1.2 MP.
Batteries
You can talk 10 hours on the Blackberry Z10, because it comes with a Li-Ion battery that has a capacity of 1800 mAh. The iPhone 5’s battery is non-removable and has a capacity of only 1440 mAh battery. On this phone you can talk 8 hours.
Prices
The Blackberry Z10 4G LTE 16 GB variant costs on amazon.com 247 dollars. The iPhone 5 16 GB variant costs more than double, 520 dollars!
