Samsung Galaxy Note 4 vs Samsung Galaxy S5 – Specifications and Pricing Comparison

It was only a few months ago that Samsung announced the successor of the Samsung Galaxy S4, which struggled to meet their expectations after the incredibly successful Galaxy S3.

The device will be called the Samsung Galaxy S5 and it has a lot of expectations to live up to once again. The feature list of the device looks promising indeed, but there is more to the device than just the figures on paper. Meanwhile, the company is also rumored to be preparing a replacement for the highly successful Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

The Note 4 is expected to be launched in the next few months.

Design

Samsung has not tried to make much difference from the Galaxy S4. As a result, the Galaxy S5 looks very similar to its predecessor. However, the company has tried to increase the premium quality of the device – in order to compete with the likes of the Apple iPhone and HTC One M8. Both these phones come with metal and aluminum casings, which provide some much better feel compared to the polycarbonate used in Samsung phones.

The Note 4, meanwhile, could be one of the first devices from the Galaxy range that features a massive difference in styling. Some of the leaked pictures whose identity is yet to be confirmed, suggest that Samsung can be bringing up an ace in its pocket.

Features

The high-end smartphone market has been looking saturated in the last few years. However, Samsung has managed to introduce several new aspects into the Galaxy S5. The phone comes with a heart rate monitor, which goes along well with the fitness theme of the device. It has several monitors to become the complete companion for the fitness freak.

Screen

The Note 4 may not be interested in carrying out the fitness theme into the phablet segment, but it could be looking towards the 4K display has a viable option. The Galaxy S5 comes with the ability to record 4K videos – albeit for a limited time in order to prevent excessive use of the memory. The Note 4 could be one of the first smartphones to come with a 4K display. This would almost eliminate pixels that can be seen by the naked eye.

The Note 4 is not expected to expand on the screen size anymore. Even if there is an expansion, it is likely to be around 0.1 or 0.2 inches. This is the kind of increment seen on the Galaxy S5, which takes its screen size to 5.1 inches. However, hard-core fans of Galaxy mobile phones have been disappointed by the lack of even 2K resolution on the screen.

While the Galaxy S5 sticks with the same AMOLED unit, there are rumors that the Note 4 could be the first phone to come with OLED technology.

The just-launched Galaxy S5 comes in two different internal memory variants – 16 GB and 32 GB. The 16 GB version would cost around $ 170 on contracts, while the Note 4 is expected to be around the $ 190 mark.
