Google Nexus 8 Excellent Features and Release Date Confirmation

Google decide to pay more attention on the new Nexus 8, instead of the Nexus 10 2. We haven’t heard anything lately about the second Nexus, so we’re guessing that the Android tablet will be forgotten for a while.

The Nexus 8 will be Google’s last chance to “defeat” its competitor, Apple, which released the iPad Air and iPad Mini, two very successful tablets with displays of 9.7 inches, respectively 7.9 inches. The Nexus 8 will try to impress with its 8.9 inch screen, and this will happen in Q4 2004. The news has been confirmed by Chromium Code and Know Your Mobile.

Google will probably end its partnership with the Taiwanese brand Asus, although DigiTimes said the company will continue to manufacture the tablet.

Another change that will affect the internal part of the Nexus 8 is the new chipset, which won’t be a Qualcomm anymore. Intel will contribute with its Atom-based “Moorefield” mobile chipset, which is a lot more powerful. This way, Intel will have to build 32 million chipsets.

The price of the Nexus 8 will be around 300 dollars, but it’s justified. So, when will we see the new tablet on the market? According to IHS Technology, Nexus 8 will be released in September or October, soon after the Google I/O Developers Conference, which will take place in June 24, 25.
