Nokia Lumia 625 vs Moto E vs Xperia M2 – What Do You Think Between Nokia, Sony and Motorola?

The smartphone market offers a huge variety of devices for every pocket, so for each handset category, there may be a few names you constantly stumble upon. Design

Measuring 4.91 x 2.55 x 0.48 inches and weighing just 5 ounces, the Motorola Moto E is the thinnest and lightest device out of the three. The competing device from Sony, the Xperia M2, measures 5.50 x 2.80 x 0.35 inches with a total weight of 5.2 ounces. The heaviest device of the pack is the Nokia Lumia 625 with 5.6 ounces. The phone measures at 5.25 x 2.84 x 0.36.

Display

The Motorola Moto E manages to place last in this category with only 4.3 inches allocated to its display. Its competitors, the Sony Xperia M2 and the Nokia Lumia 625, come with larger displays measuring 4.8 and 4.7 inches respectively. The smaller screen size made the Moto E gain the edge in terms of resolution with 540 x 960 against the Nokia Lumia 625 which comes with a 480 x 800 resolution. The Xperia M2 also has a 540 x 960 resolution. The Moto E is better than the Xperia M2, which tops the Nokia Lumia 625 in terms of pixel density, with the devices scoring 256 ppi, 229 ppi and 201 ppi respectively. The Lumia takes an extra precaution and offers scratch resistance for its display. All three displays support multi touch and are equipped with various sensors for light and proximity.

Hardware

The Nokia Lumia 625 comes with a superior Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus processing unit, while the Xperia M2 responds with its own Qualcomm Snapdragon 400. The Moto E comes with the Snapdragon 200, also manufactured by Qualcomm. In terms of speed, all three processors are clocked at 1.2 GHz. The same RAM memory is available for both the M2 and Moto E, which is 1 GB, compared to the 512 MB of RAM that comes with the Lumia handset. The Nokia Lumia 625 on the other hand is on top when it comes to storage capacity. Alongside the Moto E, they both have 8 GB of storage available, whereas the Xpria M2 only has 4 GB.

Camera

For this category, the Xperia M2is no longer trails, as its 8MP camera puts it ahead of both the Lumia and Motorola handsets, which come with 5 MP. The Moto E can record video at 854 x 480, but the other two are capable of recording 1920 x 1080 full HD videos without a problem. Standard features such as auto focus, touch to focus or geo tagging are available on all three.

Battery

You can enjoy 15 hours of talk time with the Nokia Lumia 625 thanks to its 2000 mAh battery, while using the Xperia M2 comes with a 2300 mAh battery that offers sustain for  13 hours of talk time.

Conclusion

When compared, the three devices offer specifications that put the Motorola Moto E on top, with the overall better system, which comes with a very reasonable price tag for what it offers.
