Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy Note Edge – Top Specifications and Best Prices Comparison

Prepare to welcome two other charming phones, Vibe Z2 Pro, from Lenovo, and the cousin of the Note 4, the Note Edge. But we must warn you that they don’t come with an accessible price, so unless you have some savings, you should start putting aside some dollars.

Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro

This phablet is expected to hit the stores this month, but until then, here’s what you need to know about the upcoming Vibe Z2 Pro. The device will come with a 6inches IPS LCD screen which will support a resolution of 1440x2560pixels and 490ppi, and will be one of the slimmest and elegant phones, measuring 156×81.3×7.7mm and weighting 179grams. It will have a flat metallic panel with a wide black strip at the top, where you’ll find the 16GB quadratic camera with optical image stabilization, dual-LED flash and autofocus, plus other features available on other phones, as well. This camera can record videos at 2160p@30fps and 1080p@30fps with optical stabilization. There is also a front camera of 5MP for video calling. As for the hardware performance, we assure you that this phone is a beast, being powered by a quad core Krait 400 processor, clocked at 2.5GHz, backed by a Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801 chipset, and supports an Adreno 330 GPU. Its internal storage has the capacity of 32GB, but the phone doesn’t support microSD card slot for expansion. The Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro runs on Android v4.4.2 (KitKat) with Vibe 2.0 UI and 3GB of RAM, but what will shock you the most is the giant battery of 4000mAh, which is Li-Po and non-removable. This phone will cost between 800 and 850 dollars.

Samsung Galaxy Note Edge

This smartphone will come next month with a curved Edge screen of 5.6inches using Super AMOLED technology and will feature a slightly higher resolution of 1600x2560pixels, which will give a pixel density of 524ppi. The screen will protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and the back panel of the device will have the same grained texture as the Note 4. The device will have a fingerprint sensor and the customary S Pen stylus with its known functions. The sizes of the Note Edge will be 151.3×82.4×8.3mm and the phone will weight 174grams. If you’ll remove the shell, you’ll have access to the 3,000mAh battery and underneath it, a nice quad core Krait 450 processor, clocked at 2.5GHz will do its job perfectly along with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset and an Adreno 420 GPU. But there’s another version of this phone that will be powered by a quad core 1.3GHz Cortex A53 & quad core Cortex A57 processor, based on an Exynos 5433 chipset and it will use a Mali-T760 GPU. This phone will be available in two variants of internal memories of 32/64 GB which support expansion up to 128GB. The Note Edge will run on Android v4.4.4 (KitKat) with 3GB of RAM. The back camera will be 16MP with LED Flash, optical image stabilization, autofocus, dual shot, HDR, simultaneous HD video and image recording etc, and the video recording capabilities will be at 2160p@30fps and 1080p@60fps with optical stabilization. The front camera is 3.7MP. This device is more expensive, between 1200 and 1300 dollars.

Verdict

The Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro has a bigger screen, but the Note Edge has a higher resolution and pixel density. The Vibe Z2 Pro has a more powerful battery, but the Note Edge allows you to expand the internal storage and it runs on a newer OS. But if you’ll choose the “cheapest” phone, then the Z2 Pro will meet your needs.
