Star Wars: Battlefront 3, the highly anticipated Star Wars game, was announced at the Electronic Entertainment Expo and is being keenly awaited among the gaming fraternity.
The game is scheduled to be released by summer 2015 and the development work is still under progress, Electronic Arts has confirmed. The game is being developed by EA Digital Illusions CE (DICE) and the makers have confirmed that the game might be only slightly related to the upcoming Star Wars movie, Star Wars: Episode VII. This has come as a surprise to game maniacs, who were expecting that the new launch would relate to the upcoming movie, much like its predecessors. The game is slated to be released on all the next gen gaming platforms like Play Station 4 and the XBox One, besides being released for Windows PC.

The game is being developed to work well on all next gen gaming platforms. The work for Star Wars is underway as Electronic Arts purchased all rights related to the game and is developing it under its subsidiaries, Visceral Games, DICE and BioWare. The game would be based on the Frostbite 3 engine and would have all the latest features. The makers have confirmed that the game is not a sequel to the Battlefront 2 version of the same, in the strictest sense of the word. They describe it as a re-launch of the entire Star Wars series and that it has all the things that would help them celebrate the history of Star Wars.
The Views and Locations
The speculations have been that the development team has been busy, going to various locations, to shoot the actual scenes, which would then be incorporated into the original game. There are glimpses of various scenes, images and models that have been taken and derived from the actual movie, which give a true Star Wars feel to the game. The trailer that was released at the Expo provided a sneak-peak into the overall concept and the game makers clarified the same. From the small portion of the game that was revealed to the enthusiastic gamers and the media, conclusions have been drawn that the game is indeed impressively brilliant.
