Nokia Lumia 530 vs HTC Desire 616 – Best Specs and Price Comparison

Today we will be pitting two devices against each other,that come high end features and hardware. Quite popular with the young generations, these two smartphone both represent their brands in the smartphone market, and today we shall find out which one does a better job.

Nokia Lumia 530

This Nokia handset runs the Windows 8.1 operating system right out the box, and features Action Center, Word Flow, and other functions, such as HERE maps and a personalized background for your start screen.

Design and Display

The phone has a nice design and a few useful specifications. It has a 4 inch LCD display, with a proximity sensor included, that runs at a 480 x 854 resolution. Various features such as Night Mode, White Balance, Geo-tagging, Face Detection and Voice Activation complete the list.

Camera, Specs and Battery

One of the strong points of the Lumia 530 is the 1.2 GHz quad core processor. It also has 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of internal memory. Although the internal storage space is quite small, the phone lets you add extra memory, up to 128 GB, which is more than enough. The back camera has 5 MP and the phone can record videos at a 864 x 480 resolution.  It comes with all the standard connectivity options such as WiFi, GPS or Bluetooth, and because it is a 3G device, it can reach speeds like 21 MB for its data connectivity.

The 1430 mAh battery provided for this model can cover up to 13.4 hours of talk time, 10 hours of 3G talk time, and 22 days of standby time.

HTC Desire 616

Upon its release into the smartphone market, the HTC Desire 616 has almost instantly become one of the fan favorite, mainly because it is an Android powered device, and its powerful spec list. And, to top it all off, the price for this device is quite reasonable, for the features it offers.

Design and Display

The display on this handset is quite good, as the large 5 inch display operates at a 720 x 1280 resolution, with a total pixel density of 294 ppi. The screen is also scratch resistant and it survives a bit of water as well, due to its water resistance feature.

Camera, Specs and Battery

This is where the HTC Desire 616 truly shines, with no less than 8 cored on its 1.4 GHz processor. A full GB of RAM is also included, and 4 GB of internal storage space. It can record HD videos at 1920 x 1080, and has to cameras: A 2 MP camera on the front of the device, and an 8 MP camera on the rear side. Due to the fact that the device is 4G enabled, it can reach a maximum speed of 21 MB, but unlike its opponent, it can do so while on HSDPA. The 2000 mAh battery included can provide up to 29.2 day of standby time and 14 hours of talk time.


If you want the better phone in terms of specifications, features and hardware, than the HTC handset is the one for you, as it is hands down better than the Nokia Lumia at every step. With better CPU, screen, and battery, among other things, the HTC Desire 616 is the only logical way to go when choosing between these two devices.

You can get the HTC Desire 616 on for about $250, while you can probably find the Lumia 530 for a lot cheaper, since it is a low price range device.
