LG G3 Vs OnePlus One – Specs, Features and Prices Comparison

LG G3 was launched this month being the first quad HD mobile phone. However, it has little else over the OnePlus One, which can be bought for half of what G3 would cost. The G3 is around $800 for the 16GB version, whereas the OnePlus One is about $350.

Design, Dimensions and Display

The LG G3 and the OnePlus One have screen display sizes of 5.5 inches and 8.9 mm thick. The One Plus One is heavy at 162g compared to the 149g of the LG G3. The OnePlus One also has bigger dimensions of 152.9 x 75.99 mm compared to the 75 x 146 mm of the G3. Both are plastic devices, but the G3 bears a brushed metal look and a scratchproof skin. The rear panel can also be removed, thereby offering the benefits that a removable battery would offer.

Both the phones have IPS panels for display. However, the OnePlus One comes with a full HD display of 1920 x 1080 pixels with a ppi of 401. On the other hand, the G3 comes with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 and a ppi of 534. The LG G3 offers a stunning screen display, which is crisp and natural with great viewing angles.

Processor and Performance

Both the LG G3 and the OnePlus One run on the same Snapdragon 801 processors, a quad-core processor, clocking at 2.5 GHz and a graphics of Adreno 330. This is combined with a RAM Of 3 GB, but it offers only 2GB in the case of the 16GB version.

Both the devices run smoothly without lags. The OnePlus One runs on the CyanogenMod 11S. This is a customized version of Android’s KitKat 4.4.

Storage Specs

The OnePlus One offers more internal storage when compared to the LG G3. The OnePlus One comes in 16GB and 64 GV versions, whereas the LG G3 comes in 16GB and 32GB models. However, the G3 comes with a MicroSDXC card that enables the user to expand the storage up to a maximum of 128GB. However, you need to consider the price tag of the additional memory card while comparing the prices of the two devices.

Camera Performance and Specs

The LG G3 and the OnePlus One have cameras of 13 MP at the rear. As for the LG G3, it has a double LED flash feature that enables better photography in low light conditions. It also allows recording of 4K videos. The LG G3 camera comes with a laser or super fast auto focus feature, which is capable of focussing in just 276 milliseconds. It also comes with advanced OIS or optical image stabilization features and a Touch and Shoot mode. Before you save a picture, the Magic focus feature enables selection from a range of focus points. The lower half of the volume button can also be used for launching the camera from the standby mode. The device also has a front camera of 2 MP with the angle optimized for selfies. It also comes with an auto timer which can be activated by making movements with hand along with a flash for low light.

As for the OnePlus One, it has a 13 MP camera that combines a sensor of Exmore IMX214 along with a double LED flash along with an aperture of f/2.0. The user interface is simple and easy and it also offers 4K video shooting or slow motion shooting. The CyanogenMod allows certain tweaks and additional features, more than the usual Android devices. This includes features, such as face recognition and live-filters. This can be viewed before you compose a shot, so it works well.

Verdict

One the one hand, you have the Quad HD smartphone in the LG G3, an excellent camera and a great design. On the other, you have the OnePlus One, with a matching screen and performance, great customization features and a decent design, at half the price.
