(SPRINGFIELD, Mo.) Billy Long’s campaign announced details on their agriculture tour next week, and will feature former State Treasurer Sarah Steelman at various events.

“Americans count on agriculture three times every day,” said Long. “Agriculture is the backbone of our economy. We need to continue to have the safest, most abundant food supply in the world.”

Steelman praised Long last Thursday at the “Stand Up for Freedom Rally” in Greene County.

“I believe that the solutions to this country’s problems were always going to come out of the midwest, and you [in the seventh district] have a unique opportunity. Not only do you have the opportunity to fill Roy Blunt’s shoes in Billy Long, who needs your help, your vote, and to get out and do whatever you can for him,” Steelman said.

“[T]he seventh district is going to send two great leaders to Washington who I firmly believe are going to change the direction of this country,” she said.

Steelman currently chairs the “Small Businesses for Blunt” coalition. She endorsed Billy Long late in the Primary.

The ag tour is something the man who currently holds the seventh seat – Roy Blunt – has done for years.

Long’s tour will begin at the Joplin Regional Stockyards on Monday and end with a rally of Farmers & Ranchers for Billy Long Event at Larson Farm and Lawn in Rogersville on Tuesday evening.
