Nokia Lumia 925 vs Nexus 4 – Comparsion of the Display of the Smartphones

The Finnish Company has been making enhancements to its Lumia series, ever since its launch.

Nokia has been improving its Windows Phone with every new release. Enhancements have been made per se every feature and app. Finally, the company released its state of the art Nokia Lumia 925 Windows Phone, equipped with updated features and apps. The Nokia 925 smartphone should not be adjudged as a successor to the Lumia 920 smartphone. The Lumia 925 is an improved variant, equipped with a new design, AMOLED screen and a superior camera. Whether the Lumia 925 is equipped with enough fire power to give Android based smartphones a run for their money, would be a good comparison review.

Talking about comparing the Windows Phone to Android smartphone, the Korean manufacturer, LG has been off track from the smartphone race lately. However, the release of Nexus series brought them into the limelight again. The Google Nexus 4, the fourth-gen smartphone has raised the standard bar for Android based smartphones. The Korean manufacturer has designed and released the Nexus 4 smartphone, creating a stir in the market. However, the Nexus 4 has to deal with other well established smartphones in the market. The Nexus 4 comes equipped with the latest version of Jelly Bean and comes at a comparable price. Whether it has the ingredients to fight the smartphone battle, would be a good topic to discuss some other day.

Today, we compare the Lumia 925 Windows Phone to the Google Nexus 4 in terms of their display features.

Display

Nokia Lumia 925

The Nokia Lumia 925 Windows Phone, unlike its predecessor, makes use of an AMOLED display. It is one among the best AMOLED screens presently available in the smartphone market. The display offers the users with reasonable color temperature and balance. Regardless, the brightness, coming at 280 nits, is a disappointment, making the display hard to view under broad daylight.

The 4.5-inch display, comes with a resolution of 768 x 1280 pixels, catering the user with a decent pixel density of 334-ppi. The viewing angles are excellent with good image quality.

Google Nexus 4

The 4.7-inch WXGA True HD IPS+ screen of the Nexus 4 offers some noteworthy elements to the users. The display offers the users with a modest 768 x 1280 pixels resolution. As a result, the pixel density comes out to be a decent 318-ppi (pixel per inch). The IPS LCD technology provides a natural looking color tone along with a unique realistic appearance to the images, as opposed to that of the AMOLED display. The screen offers great outdoor visibility, due to its strong brightness coming with wide viewing angles and a modest reflection rate. The screen is ably protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 2 coating against scratches and smudges.
