Nokia Lumia 625 vs HTC 8XT – Best Prices and Top Specifications Comparison

You may wonder what’s with this comparison and why did we choose to put side by side a Nokia phone and a HTC phone. Although they’re very different from each other, they share some common specs and features, such as screen resolution, processor and operating system. Still, the HTC is more powerful and has a better camera, while the Nokia phone has a longer battery life.

Displays and sizes

For some users, the size of the display is very important, so they pick the phone which fits them best. In this case, the Lumia 625 offers a larger display of 4.7inches (IPS LCD, with a resolution of 480x800pixels and 199ppi, which is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 2. Both phones are powered by Krait processors with two cores, supported by Qualcomm MSM8930 Snapdragon chipsets and they’re using Adreno 305 GPU. However, the HTC 8XT is faster, as it comes with a higher clock speed of 1.4GHz, while the Nokia model has its processor clocked at 1.2GHz. Plus, the HTC device has a bigger RAM capacity – 1GB, while the Nokia smartphone runs with 512MB of RAM. Therefore, it’s obvious which phone offers a better hardware performance. The internal memory is the same on both phones: 8GB and it supports expansion up to 64GB. Both phones come loaded with Microsoft Windows Phone 8, but the Lumia 625 was privileged to receive the 8.1 update.

Cameras

The Lumia 625 has a modest primary camera of 5MP with autofocus, LED flash, geo tagging and touch focus, it records at 1080p@30fps and for video calling it provides a VGA front camera. The HTC 8XT wins this section too, because it takes photos with a more sophisticated back camera of 8MP with autofocus, LED flash, geo tagging and 1.4 µm pixel size, but it has the same video recording capabilities as its rival. However, the front camera is better at 1.6MP.

Batteries

If until now, Nokia lost ground in all sections, it’s time to shine and brag about its bigger battery capacity, which is 2000mAh, but you should know that the battery is non removable. The HTC 8XT has a Li-Po 1800mAh user replaceable battery with a total duration of talktime of 14hours.

Prices

These are mid-range smartphones with affordable prices. So, the Nokia Lumia 625 costs 200 dollars and the HTC 8XT is 30 dollars cheaper.
