Nexus 7 vs Samsung Galaxy Note 3 – Best Camera Features Comparison

Nexus excelled in manufacturing and producing smartphones for all these years.

However, this time the company entered into the tablet segment and released the first ever tablet to come equipped with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS. The tablet is not to be undermined, as it consists of state of the art quad core NVIDIA Tegra 3 CPU under the hood. The Nexus 7 comes with enough fire power to give other tablets available in the industry, a run for their money.

Unlike other tablets present in the mobile industry, the Galaxy Note series from Samsung came up with an additional component – S Pen stylus. The S Pen stylus makes the company’s handsets unique among other tablets. It may not be a new feature, but Samsung somehow managed to enhance the general interaction with the tablet. All this leads the user to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 handset.

Let us compare the two tablets in terms of their camera features.

Google Nexus 7

Google Nexus 7 comes equipped with a user facing camera, mostly used for video calling. The tablet lacks the rear camera, which is quite surprising. It makes you wonder how much price hike would have been, had the company fitted a rear camera in the Google Nexus 7 tablet. However, not many consumers would rely on a rear camera of a tablet for clicking snaps, but they would use it, if that is the only thing available at hand.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3

In comparison, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 comes equipped with a 13MP sensor, with additional features, such as digital image stabilization, BSI sensor and a high Color Rendering Index (CRI) LED flash.

The shape of the handset makes it perfect to shoot snaps. It comes with various advantages such as camera application loads quickly, no shutter delays, easily accessible shutter keys and comes with a plethora of shooting modes. The camera shooting mode includes HDR, Burst Shot, Panorama and more.

Image Quality: The Nexus 7 camera offers superb image quality. Outdoor shots provide the user with images that are colorful and rich in details. The images produced are sharp and clear. Even under low lighting conditions, the camera produces excellent shots. However, the details may appear a tad softer under low light conditions. Despite it being a quick snapping camera, the user might experience little blurring every now and then.

The LED flash illuminates up to 7 feet away and balances out flesh tone colors in the best manner possible.

Video Recording: The camera efficiently records videos under sufficient lighting, providing the user with clear audio recording, sharp details and accurate color reproduction. However, the quality is hampered under low lighting conditions. Noise is enhanced under low lighting conditions, whereby, affecting the details to a large extent. The camera also features slow motion video recording feature at 720p HD, providing the users with different speed options – ½, ¼ and 1/8.

The Galaxy Note 3 has the ability to shoot 4K videos, with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. However, the videos come with huge file size that would consume plenty of your data allowance and precious storage.
