Moto G vs. LG Optimus L9 – Quick Comparison of Hardware Specifications

Motorola has produced some great smartphones to become the unprecedented king of the entry level segment.

The company has been eyeing the high-level segment as well. However, the smartphones released by Motorola are good, both in features and performance, but lack the oomph factor to lure the masses. Moreover, the company has brought down the price of its handsets; therefore, some sacrifices are made to the smartphone which inadvertently affects its performance. However, the newly released Moto G promises more than what meets the eye.

In comparison, today, the Korean number two smartphone manufacturer has placed itself nicely in the smartphone arena with its Optimus series. LG has pushed the limits of technology with its Optimus line up, holding nothing back. The LG Optimus L9 handset may not come equipped with top-notch features, but the handset has enough fire power to give other smartphones a run for their money. The 4.5-inch IPS display along with a dual core processor pushes the L9 handsets into the premium smartphone segment.

Processor and Memory

Moto G’s processor is competent to handle basic operations. However, when it comes to taking care of intensive tasks, the processor succumbs to the pressure. The Moto G does not come with much updates. It bears the same old quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 SoC, running at a speed of 1.2GHz. The processor is accompanied with the Adreno 305 graphic processor and a RAM of 1GB. It can handle simple tasks with ease, but falters in handling heavy 3D games.

Moto G comes in two variants – 8GB and 16GB capacities. In case, the user wants to make use of additional memory, the handset comes equipped with external memory card slot for memory enhancement.

The Optimus L9 incorporates dual core TI OMAP4430 CPU, which is an updated core, as compared to its predecessor, the L7 handset. The processor is accompanied with a RAM of 1GB. The hardware specifications may not be very impressive, but the handset offers solid performance without any noticeable delays or lags.

In terms of memory, the Optimus L9 comprises of 4GB of internal storage capacity. However, the lower internal memory is redeemed by the inclusion of external memory card slot for storage enhancement.

Battery  

The 2070 mAh battery unit of the Moto G handset offers a decent battery life with moderate usage. In comparison, the LG Optimus L9 offers the user with 2150 mAh battery unit, with a day-long battery life.
