Micromax Canvas Doodle 2 A240 vs Karbonn Titanium S9 – Top Features and Specs Comparison

When Micromax released its much-awaited Canvas 4 handset, Karbonn released the Titanium S9 handset.

Karbonn launched the S9 smartphone, equipped with similar hardware specs, along with a bigger display. The smartphone consists of spec sheet which is much similar looking to Micromax Canvas Doodle 2 A240 handset.

Let us compare both the smartphones against each other, with respect to their features and specifications, in order to help you determine the better handset suiting your requirements.

Display and Processor

Micromax Doodle Canvas 2 A240 smartphone comes equipped with a massive 5.7-inch display, having a resolution of HD 720p. As a result, the display offers the user with a decent pixel density of 220-ppi. In comparison, Karbonn Titanium S9 handset encompasses a tad smaller 5.5-inch screen, but with similar resolution of 720p HD. The S9 handset offers a superior pixel density of 267-ppi, offering the user crisp and clear picture quality.

In terms of processor, both smartphones come equipped with similar chipset configuration. The Canvas Doodle 2 and the Titanium S9 handset incorporate an inexpensive quad core MediaTek MT6589 processor, running at a speed of 1.2GHz. The processor in both the handsets is based on ARM Cortex A7 technology, coupled with PowerVR SGX544 graphic processor, running at a speed of 256MHz for a smoother gaming and multitasking experience.

Battery and Features

Both the smartphones come equipped with similar 2600mAh battery units. The battery unit ideally offers the user 2G data and talk time of approximately 8 hours. The battery would carry the user through the day with low to reasonable usage.

In terms of features, Micromax Doodle 2 has an upper edge over its counterpart, the Titanium S9 handset. Top features in the Canvas 4 handset have been equipped in the Canvas Doodle 2 handset as well. The smartphone comes equipped with unique features such as Smart Pause, Blow Air to Unlock, Flip on Call for Speaker, Flip to Silent, Video Pinning, Proximity Dial Phone and Proximity Answer phone. The smartphone is also equipped with a stylus that can be used effectively on the display and Flip Cover.

Though similar modifications could be achieved using Android applications, they would not perform as effectively on Titanium S9 handset. Both the smartphones come equipped with dual-SIM functionality and run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system.


Both the smartphones were launched under similar price segment. Both offer similar hardware specifications, but in terms of build quality, software features, and after sale service, Micromax Canvas Doodle 2 surpasses the Karbonn Titanium S9 handset.
