Micromax released its newest entrant in the Canvas series of smartphones – Canvas 2.2 A114. The newest variant from the Indian smartphone manufacturer is yet another budget friendly smartphone equipped with a bigger display.
Micromax Canvas Doodle 2 comes equipped with a MediaTek processor along with a 5-inch display. However, the company relied on MT6528M chipset in its newest entrant, the Canvas 2.2 A114 handset. The chipset has been designed by Taiwanese manufacturer, MediaTek.
In comparison, the already established Motorola released its Moto E smartphone, after the successful launch of the Moto G handset. The Moto E handset dives deeper into the cutthroat entry-level sector of the smartphone market.
Today, we compare the two smartphones in terms of their specifications and features, to determine how they would stack up against each other and the cutthroat competition in the mobile arena.
Processor and Battery
In terms of processor, the Micromax handset utilizes a MediaTek MT6582M chipset, along with a quad core processor, running at a speed of 1.3GHz. The Micromax Canvas 2.2’s MediaTek processor offers the user much superior performance than any MediaTek processors, including that of the 1.5GHz MY6589T chipset. The MT6582M MediaTek processor of the Micromax Canvas 2.2 equals in terms of performance to that of the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset.
A standard 2000mAh battery unit powers the Micromax smartphone. The battery offers a day long backup with average to moderate usage. However, with a Cortex A7 core along with a RAM of 1GB equipped on the MT6582M chipset, the handset manages power efficiently.
In comparison, it would not be wrong to suggest that the Moto E handset has not flexed its muscle. The smartphone comes equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 dual core SoC, along with a RAM of 1GB and Adreno 302 graphic processor. The combination is well equipped to handle basic operations decently, but the processor collapses under pressure, with intensive stuff. The smartphone is not apt to be treated as a powerhouse or considered a gamer’s choice.
Both the smartphones come with internal storage capacity of 4GB, which is slightly on the lower side. However, the external memory card slot redeems the smartphone’s incapability of being equipped with a larger internal memory.
Software
Micromax Canvas 2.2 runs on Android version 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system. In comparison, the Moto E handset runs on version 4.4.2 KitKat operating system, offering the user with almost stock Android like experience.
