HTC One vs. HTC Butterfly – Comparison of Display, Build, Processor and OS

The HTC One has been a revolutionary release by the company. The smartphone was welcomed by the masses with open arms.

The initial impression of the smartphone raised hopes of the company, as the targeted customer was head over heels for the smartphone. Not to raise your hopes much higher with the smartphone, the handset was competent to become a flagship variant of the company. Today, we compare the HTC One smartphone to the HTC Butterfly, with respect to their display, build, processor and operating system.

Display

Comparing the two handsets with respect to their displays, both the smartphones cater the potential user with a Full HD 1080p display. Regardless, the HTC One smartphone incorporates a 5-inch screen, which lacks with respect to pixel density. The 5-inch display of the HTC One offers the user with a pixel density of 440-ppi (pixel per inch), which is a tad lesser than the 468-ppi of pixel density offered by the HTC Butterfly handset. In comparison, the HTC Butterfly comes incorporated with a Super LCD3 display measuring 4.7-inch. The display of the HTC Butterfly may lack with respect to screen size, but the pixel density of the smartphone offers vivid and bright image experience to the potential user.

Build Quality

Talking about build quality, the HTC Company does not hold itself back in providing its smartphones with superb quality material and design features. The HTC One handset comes in a rubberized finish, which offers a stunning appearance.

In comparison, the HTC Butterfly appears a more elegant and sophisticated handset. The HTC Butterfly comes with a soft feel body, which is easy and comfortable to hold.

Processor and Memory

The HTC One clearly overshadows its younger sibling, the HTC Butterfly, with respect to processor and memory specs. The HTC One smartphone derives power from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 CPU, clocked at 1.7GHz of running speed along with Adreno 320 GPU. The combination of processor and graphic processor is accompanied with a 2GB RAM for smooth functioning of the handset. The HTC One has two internal memory variants of 32GB and 64GB.

Comparing the HTC Butterfly to the HTC One, the former comes equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU along with 2GB of RAM. The processor is coupled with Adreno 320 GPU ensuring smooth functioning of the smartphone. The HTC Butterfly may lack in terms of 16GB internal memory variant, but the smartphone redeems itself with an external memory enhancement slot for expanding memory.

Operating System

The HTC Sense 5 UI running along with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS powers the HTC One smartphone. The Sense UI offers two new features – Blinkfeed and Zoe.

On the other hand, the HTC Butterfly comes equipped with the Android version 4.1.1 Jelly Bean OS, which features the HTC 4+ user interface.
