HTC Evo 3D vs LG Optimus 3D – Best Specs, Features and Price Comparison

Today we’ll compare two wonderful handsets, LG Optimus 3D and HTC Evo 3D, that are worth buying. Let’s see which one is the best.

Body and Design

The Evo 3D from HTC comes with the dimensions 126x65x12.1mm, and a weight of 170g, whereas the LG Optimus 3D measures 128.8x68x11.9mm and 168g in weight.

Both the devices have the typical 4 Android buttons. HTC Evo 3D has a sturdy build that is rugged on the exterior with rear panel made of plastic. On the other side, the Optimus 3D has an imposing look with a fine screen that has a mirror finish.

Display

The HTC Evo 3D is packed with a display of 4.3-inch that is 3D LCD, along with a screen resolution of 540x960pixels and a 256 ppi for pixel density. LG Optimus 3D comes with a screen that has the same 4.3 inch size as, along with a screen resolution of 480×800 pixels and a density of 217 ppi.

Both the devices have a display that is capacitive touchscreen (with 16Million colors) with multi touch support; also there is a proximity sensor, accelerometer and Gyro sensor.

Camera:

Both the phones have the capability of recording videos and shooting photos in 3D, and they feature dual-cameras in the rear and one front-facing camera each device.

HTC Evo 3D comes equipped with two cameras of 5 MP each, along with LED-flash, auto-focus, geo tagging and a resolution for photos up o 2560х1920pixels. The photography in 3D is viable at 2 MP, while the recording for HD videos can be at a resolution of 720 p and a rate of 30 fps (in 2D and 3D as well). The secondary shooter is 1.3 MP and it is great for video calls.

The LG Optimus 3D has also two cameras of 5 MP and it provide geo-tagging, auto-focus and LED Flash as well, with a resolution at 2592х1944pixels. The recording for HDvideo is possible at 1080 p and 30 fps on 2D mode and 720p on 3D.  The secondary shooter is similar with the one on HTC device.

Memory:

The HTC Evo 3D houses 1 GB internal storage and a micro SD card port that with a capacity of  external memory up to 32 GB, whereas the LG device is bundled with 8GB in-built memory storage and it support a maximum memory of 32 GB on micro SD card.

Connectivity

Both the devices support W-Fi and they have popular bands, the 802.11 b,g and n, also the Wi-Fi Hotspot feature, GPS and Bluetooth 3.0 ( for HTC Evo 3D) and Bluetooth 2.1 ( on LG Optimus 3D). In addition they have has A2DP and EDR support on them.

The HTC Evo 3D comes with FM Radio, while the LG smartphone does not.

OS

Both the devices are running on Android OS with the latest version of Gingerbread, v2.3 on it. Nevertheless, the LG Optimus 3D comes out of the box with the version 2.2 Froyo, and it might have to be updated to the newest version if wanted. Also, the LG handset has its own User Interface on top of the Android OS, whereas HTC comes with its own Sense User Interface that is pretty popular for its exceptional gesture support and user-friendly UI. This HTC UI is very fun and enjoyable to use and it provides small add-ons.

Battery

The HTC handset comes packed with a battery unit of 1730 mAh battery and the LG Optimus smartphone comes with a 1500 mAh battery capacity. The HTC Evo 3D provide 9h and 2min of talk time in 2G with 358h of standby time and 7hand 45min of talk time and 420h of standby time in 3G. On the other side, the LG Optimus 3D offers 13h for talk time on 2G with 450h of standby time and 9h of talk time on 3G.

Processor

The HTC Evo 3D is powered by a great dual-core processor, clocked at 1.2GHz with a Adreno220 GPU and Qualcomm MSM8660 chip, whereas the LG Optimus 3D is powered by a dual core processor that is ARM CortexA9, clocked at 1 GHz, with Power VR SGX540 GPU and TI OMAP4430 chipset.

Price

The LG Optimus 3D is priced at $270.93 and the HTC Evo 23 is at $110.00 on Amazon.

Conclusion

The two 3D devices are very interesting looking, and they are great when it comes to shoot in 3D, both video and photo. Both the smartphones mentioned earlier are quite similar, but the HTC Evo 3D wins a little over the LG Optimus 3D due to its great battery, friendly UI and better quality in build. The LG Optimus 3D is a good handset, however, but lacks excellent build quality compared to the HTC Evo 3D.
