Its downside, however, is that you cannot change the font for your chats, but instead have to use the same general format for your texts. However, you can make your text bold by typing your text between two asterisks and italicize it by typing the text between two underscores. If you wish to strike through your text, have the text between two dashes. Another interesting thing is that you can change your chat window to appear as you would prefer while you are chatting with your friends or associates. Most people love the idea that you can actually save your chat history. You can easily go back and see what was said previously, especially if it was important. To do this, simply go to the settings menu, select inbox and activate the chat label. If you do not have time to chat, then you have nothing to worry about. You can use an email to reply to a chat message the old fashioned way.
If you do not feel like typing when talking to friends or business associates, Google Talk has a solution. In such cases Google Talk offers you the option of making a call to the persons on your contact list just like you would from your phonebook with your phone. In the chat box there is a call icon. Click on it and the call will go through. For this feature, however, you might have to download the application as the email part does not offer this option.
