The Indian smartphone manufacturer, Micromax has been eyeing the top spot in the smartphone battle.

The company has released a plethora of smartphones in the high-end segment, but at reasonable prices. One such release from the Indian manufacturer Micromax, the Canvas Knight A350 smartphone has the ability to give other established smartphones a run for their money. The smartphone has everything that is required to enter the high-end segment in the smartphone industry. For potential buyers looking for an impressive spec sheet, the Canvas Knight A350 is the handset for them.

However, an amazing spec sheet does not make the smartphone worthy of the ‘best smartphone’ title. The Knight has to prove in real time play, whether it is the Knight in shining armor or not.

Micromax has been following the footsteps of the Korean giant, Samsung Electronics. The Korean giant has earned recognition in the smartphone market in the last few years. The massive 5.8-inch screen of the smartphone available at a reasonable price offers the masses best of both the worlds. The Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8-inch smartphone is a budget friendly smartphone. Regardless, the massive screen comes with a low resolution and unimpressive hardware under the hood.

Today, we shall compare the Canvas Knight A350 to the Galaxy Mega 5.8 smartphone in terms of their design and build quality.

Design and Build Quality

Micromax Canvas Knight A350

The Canvas Knight A350 smartphone is handsome in appearance, better than any of its siblings from Micromax. The design is based on the amalgamation of the Sony Xperia Z1 and the iPhone 5 smartphone providing a premium look and appearance. However, the rear of the smartphone is a home for fingerprints and smudges, which has been considerably reduced by its bundled covering.

The Chassis is made from aluminium, which adds to its heavy weight and robust build quality. The smartphone comes equipped with two micro-SIM card slots on both the sides, but lacks the microSD card slot for memory enhancement. The volume and power button are similar in size and placed right next to each other, which can be a problem in terms of their usage. The rear comprises of a 16MP sensor equipped with a dual LED flash.

The smartphone is gigantic. It would be a problem for most people while using the smartphone with a single hand and storing it in the pocket. However, it might address those wishing for a big screen at a reasonable price. In terms of design, it appears similar to the Galaxy S4 smartphone. The corners are curved and come in a plastic finish. It might not cater to the user with a premium look. The bezels are not so thin and the plastic rear is also not helping the smartphone to offer a premium look.

The home button is placed under the display with menu key on the left and back key on the right. The power and volume button is on the right and left side respectively. The buttons are easy to press and comfortable to use.
