Assassin’s Creed Unity – Will It Run 1080p or 720 On New Gen Consoles?

In a recent reference to the hardware output related to the Playstation 4 version of Assassin’s Creed Unity, it was mentioned that the game will support 720p video output.

Most fans obviously confused it to be the maximum resolution of the game which led to massive disappointment. When everyone was expecting the game to be running at full HD 1080p resolution and offer a new generation gaming experience for players, it was highly annoying to know that the game is going to take a backward step.

But, the people at Dualshocker.com came to the rescue and confirmed that it is not related to the resolution of the game but rather the hardware capability of the title. It is expected that an official announcement will be made shortly when players will be able to know the graphics quality and resolution of the game. When computers are moving towards 4K resolutions, it is really bad to see consoles lagging behind, especially because of some gamers who want it to be priced low. The demand forces manufacturers to reduce the quality of the hardware.

Gamescom Trailer Was Low Quality

The Assassin’s Creed Unity Gamescom 2014 trailer was really low in terms of quality and it looked as if we were seeing Assassin’s Creed II play before us. The graphics have been significantly brought down. It cannot be confirmed by seeing a single game play video; but based on its quality, it was evident that the game developers are working to bring its quality down.

The reason is already known. They are trying to make it run smoothly on Xbox One and Playstation 4 at 1080p but we are not sure if they will ever be able to achieve the feat. The E3 2014 trailer and game play video were definitely impressive, especially with its great visuals powered by the Unity engine. Ubisoft earlier did the same for their most popular title Watch Dogs which hardly looked like anything that we saw during E3 2012 because they wanted the game to run on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles.

Release Date Delay

Adding further rumor to this unconfirmed 1080p rendering, Ubisoft delayed Assassin’s Creed Unity two weeks and pushed it to the month of November. They didn’t reveal any official reason but simply stated that the development team wanted more time to polish the final release. The confirmed news is that Unity is going to come out with Assassin’s Creed Rogue which is a Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 exclusive title. The release date has been confirmed to be on November 11 and the game will most probably compete directly with Activision’s Call of Duty Advanced Warfare.

Assassin’s Creed Unity will feature four player co-op in single player campaigns which is one of the newest additions to the game but it has been said that the game will not feature any multiplayer modes. It is definitely a good move by the development team to focus solely on the co-op experience rather than trying to deliver them all.
