Assassin’s Creed Rogue Heading to PC In The Near Future

Ubisoft wouldn’t confirm this news officially because Assassin’s Creed Rogue was supposed to be an exclusive title for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

When the company announced Assassin’s Creed Unity, they clarified that the game is not coming to older generation consoles because they can’t handle the demanding hardware specifications of the new game. However, they promised that an entirely new exclusive title will launch for the consoles which they did.

Now, it comes as really surprising news that it is not going to be so exclusive after all, because the producer of the game says otherwise. In a recent interview, he said that there is always a chance that Rogue could actually land in PCs sometime in the future and we can’t deny its porting after it gets released on the scheduled platforms.

A PC Release Is In the Cards

In the interview, the producer said that making a game that focuses on being a Templar was something that they have always considered. They spent time in exploring the options before they finally decided to go with the plotline that is Assassin’s Creed Rogue. “When we began creating the Assassin’s Creed, the first game in the franchise, we always wondered how it feels to be a Templar. What could players do if they are suddenly playing in the opposite side of the team? We had all these questions but we could never introduce the concept due to various reasons. The new game is really powerful not only in the storyline but also has great game play elements which will be the first of its kind in the series”.

The story is about Shay Patrick Cormac who starts off as an Assassin but later slowly turns to become a full-fledged Templar. The developers would like to take you through an emotional journey. Earlier, it was assumed that you can play it only if you own a Playstation 3 or Xbox 360 console. But, now the producer said, “The game is being developed only for 360 and Playstation 3. We have heard a lot of responses requesting a PC version and we will definitely be looking into the development very soon”.

Unconfirmed but Not Denied

As the producers didn’t deny the fact that Assassin’s Creed Rogue could be coming to PC, we can assume that it would make its way to the platform after six months or so once the initial hype subsides. The games Rogue and Unity launches on their respective platforms this November.
