Android 4.5 L – Mind Blowing Features and Specs for Your Smartphones

It is not that far back when people enjoyed the ‘sweet tasting’ Android 4.4 KitKat.

Now, people are eagerly waiting for the next iteration – the Android 4.5 L. This is the latest Android version and is expected to be released sometime this year. Conservatively, each version of Android has been named after a sweet treat and in alphabetical order. The most recent ones include Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice cream sandwich, Jellybean and KitKat. As such, it was only logical for them to name their next version something that starts with a letter L. It is, however, still unclear as to whether the letter will stand for ‘Lollipop’.

Features that Come With this New Version

Apparently, this new style goes by the name Moonshine. It has a design that is clean and flat like that found in iOS 7. The icons are also circular, colorful and flat. This comes accompanied by the KitKat transparent status bar. Navigation buttons have a minimalist appearance and are cleaner and they thus look less cluttered. These icons come as a result of the Google online icons mock version of the Hera Gmail 4.5 interface version.

Design Change

There are leaks that also point to the fact that there will be some changes in the design in the Android 4.5 version. For instance, the navigation bar is no longer grey but bright red. The background of the menu also has a red shade. The screen color is also likely to change each time a menu comes within an application. Currently, the screen is able to draw attention by turning grey slightly.

There are also new navigation onscreen buttons so the home button has taken a leave and is replaced by a Google button. The multitasking button also has a slight change and is now hexagonal.

HTML Integration

This 4.5 update is referred to as Hera and focuses on unifying Android with Chrome via an Android running chromium build. One major change you will see with this Android 4.5 version is the creation of completely functional multitasking windows. Apps will now not be seen as static HTML 5 powered apps but instead as interactive windows. They are going to take actions instead of just being there in the list of screenshots of opened apps. So this means that you can reply directly to emails from a multitasking window without entering the app itself.

Interaction Change

This new version is going to change interaction via Android powered devices. Each basic action will need extra power. As such, transitioning from your computer to smartphone will be a flawless process. You can now continue to work you left on your computer on your smartphone even when you are nowhere near the PC.

HTML 5 will also be integrated deeply into this new version of Android. However, it is not yet clear as to what extent it will be integrated. By the look of it, Google has lots of things in store for users, especially with this new Android version.
