If Neil Druckmann, the creative director at Naughty Dog is to be believed, Uncharted 4 is certainly going to be one of the best and brightest releases on PS4 ever.
According to him, the development of the game is on schedule and going on very well. For the fans of the Uncharted series, there is welcome news. The game is going in a different direction this time, as the development team is working on an entirely new storyline.
The Storyline
Druckmann seems excited about the game and the prospect of an entirely new direction for the story. Though he refused to divulge any specific details about the game or the direction its story is going to be taking, he promises there will be set-pieces as always. These set pieces will be integrated with the characters in the story a little more deeply this time around. So, perhaps, the players can look forward to a lot more cinematic experiences and moments in the game. Nathan Drake is going to go on a lot many other adventures and players should ideally stay tuned for more of his travels. Nathan Drake, who has retired from his treasure hunting days, is now on a journey around the globe, pursuing conspiracies revolving around a much fabled pirate treasure. The story is set some years into the future – further from where Uncharted 3 had ended.
Release Information
Though Druckmann talked about the storyline and the adventures Drake is likely to be involved in, he chose to stay tight lipped on the matter of the release of Uncharted 4. All he was willing to admit was that the game is on track, development is happening fast, and it will be released any time in the near future. On asking whether fans will get to see any new art or footage from the game, Druckmann said he wasn’t sure if any of these details will be made available in the very near future. Sources close to the developers have hinted at the release date being sometime close to Christmas next year. So if you really want to know what’s happening with Drake, you will have to wait around till December 2015, to find out what the fuss is all about.
Nathan’s Greatest Adventure
Since Uncharted 3 will be seeing Nathan Drake travel the world to decipher the truth about the pirate treasure, and find it, this is perhaps the greatest adventure he would ever embark on. According to Naughty Dog, this installment of the game is intended to tie the whole series together into a neat little bow. His fortitude will be put to the test and he will have to make some serious choices in this one. He has to save his loved ones and for doing that, he may have to make sacrifices that he never thought he would have to make. It would be difficult to say what’s really happening here, because Naughty Dog is hesitant in giving up any specific information about the game. However, it would be interesting to note that there is nothing to derail the development plans of the game. It is also possible that Naughty Dog may end up disclosing more about the game at the upcoming GamesCon.
